1. any bootable copy of XP will allow you to FORMAT the HD.
............It wont format the C, only the D partition.
read the ?? carefully and say YES to "Do you want to use the FULL HD"..
...........not sure where this comes up??
If you can...
yes under warranty,
and they have a clause to replace it, but
they keep making excuses " Oh its a different
problem this time" when actually its the
same problem, they just never completely write down on the order exactly what I tell them
yeah basically identical.
I dont need ALL the programs on each system,
but might as well to make things easier.
I figure up to 5 gigs of programs. and I guess
xp is about 1.5 gig, right?
so maybe about 10 gigs needed.
MULTIPLE restore installs?
Hi all,
I run high end programs on multiple systems. Over time, windows gets corrupted and needs clean installs. ( dont want to argue this point
please)
What program can I back up my entire operating
system and all my normal installed programs.
( probably about 20...

Do what?
Plug in 2 drives to usb. Copy files from
1 drive to the other.
Many here will say it can. But I'm talking about real use drives, with thousands of files.
Always hangs.

oKay, Im getting more confused.
What I meant by ghost was - I think I will
be using power quest drive image 7.
My Current factory set up laptop is like this:
C drive - install windows.
D drive ( partition) - factory installed
power quest lite drive image ( great for
restore)...
Thanks alot.
I see your point.
I just formatted and gave xp 15 gig partition, on a 80 gig drive
I dont see how windows can format both partitions during install.
Can I format the other partition after install?
thanks
Beth
Thanks.
I realize now I will have to stay with EIDE.
Because I run a couple systems, some older,
and have to transfer files with USB.
thats mainly what I use the drives for.
So, I gather it wouldnt work hooking a SATA drive up, by USB , to a non Sata mother board,
right?
Beth
[Reconsider your stance on Service Pack 2.]
Okay, I will. I thought it was mainly security
stuff.
Sounds like it might fix alot of USB problems I note xp has.
