first off where did the file come from
secondly if it's in plain text you can open it with notepad just make sure you uncheck the box that says "always use this program to open this type of file"
I am in charge of a fairly large network and I was wondering if there a way to analyze packets in a windows enviroment. Or is there a program that will tell you the OS of a remote host. I know they have them available for Unix varients but I have yet to find something with a windows compatability.
If I understand what you're saying correctly then all you have to do is make a Dial up connection with your comp's # and distribute it out to each location. They'll double-click it and they're on their way.
What the error is exactly is that it won't let the game set the resolution to 800 * 600 * 8. It works with graphics oriented games that don't have to be in that resolution. Which I have found that many do use that res. I hope that's a little more help on determining the problem at hand.
It was an old 486 20 meg ram 66htz socket 3. The new is Intel Chipset 166 mhz 32 megs SDRAM socket 7 and the video card I believe is a Matrox S3. And when I said graphics oriented I meant graphics intense like diablo, warcraft....
I'm going to double check on the vid card and get back if it's...
I just installed a new motherboard with a new cpu and video card. I now cant play games that I was able to play before on my old motherboard and with no video card. I checked devman and found no conflicts. If you need more info then let me know.
I've had to do the exact same thing.....all you do is create a file in the root directory called win386.exe.
You can put whatever you want in the file just so long as you have the file in the root directory. This is the file that the upgrade disk looks for. With this you can do...
I had to delete my profile because everything was too big. I thought I could maybe fix the problem by deleting user.dat. Well it did fix the problem but I had to end up deleting the name from the user list due to unforseen difficulties. Well I added it back after I got rid of it and I change my...
2ffat:

I didn't get a dialtone. I heard the modem just make the sounds in the middle of me being online I didn't get kicked off. As for the DoS attacks, those can be done to anyone. However, you may be right that a program sent an off-hook command.
I was on my friend's computer when I was attacked via DoS. I heard my modem making noise like you hear when you pick up the phone but through the modem speaker. I want to know if the two are related. If not then what could it be?
I was on my friend's computer when I believe I was experiencing DoS attacks when the modem started to make noise like when you pick up the phone but it was coming in through the modem speaker. I want to know if this is possible and how they did it or if it's even related.
I've been working on a particular Qbasic program for quite some time now but I'm having trouble developing a program or sub that can allow me to set up user permissions. If you have any ideas or questions whatsoever let me know.
I had to do the same thing with my computer. I was installing a 12 gig HD and it would only recognize 512megs of it. What I did was installed windows on it how it was and I downloaded a program that allowed me to use the entire HD the only thing is that it's running on win95 so it's on FAT16 and...
Was the computer FAT32 before? If so then you might need to get a higher version of DOS like what comes with windows. But I need more info if I can be of any help
I'm not sure but it could also be that rnaapp.exe is corrupt. You might want to try to replace that file and see what happens from there. Let me know how it went.

First of all, if you have a slow modem upgrade it to a 56k like they said earlier. If you already have a 56k then you may want to buy a new processor or if you feel skilled enough you could overclock your CPU. I suggest reading up on it and looking around at the different ways of overclocking...
It'll send it to 1: only if nothing is added you can also add this if you want the "user" to know why it's asking again:

1:
CLS
LOCATE 13,30
INPUT "*question*",mail.nam$
IF mail.nam$ = "" THEN
DO
PRINT "Please answer the...
