nevermind, got it working...

When a shortcut is moved from lets say the start menu to the desktop by dragging it over, is there any kind of registry change? I'm pretty sure there is not, just a change to the target, but a shortcut that worked before isn't working now after being moved...any ideas?

it connects the LCD to the motherboard...to reconnect you have to take the cover off of the bottom part and find the interface where it connects

OK, so are you able to connect to the internet with the Dell or are you just seeing it as connected to the network? Also with the averatec, make sure you have the correct SSID entered into the wireless networking settings along with the correct WPA password you set.

one of our users contracted this virus on a Win2k machine. We've researched the virus but only found support for ME and XP machines. Has anybody encountered this virus on any platform and what steps did you take to remove it? thanks in advance! :)

not sure about the overheating issue, but probably not the issue here. a few of my friends have dell laptops and the fan does switch on at high speed every few minutes which is normal. Hopefully everything is working for you now.

Should diskkeeper be run on an exchange 2003 server? not talking about running in real time here but possibly just a scheduled defrag time for instance on a weekend. What are the outcomes/consequences for doing this, or should it even be an option?

most likely not the power supply. sounds like windows is just having trouble loading, and could be missing some files. you might want to try and see if it will load into safe mode and defrag the hard drive and run a virus scan just for safe measure. if that doesn't do anything I would just...
