bad move on microsoft part. instead come up with innovative ideas, they are trying desperately to regain web supremacy. i ll give it an F. I say even with 3 microsoft and 2 yahoo combined they wouldn't even be able to out-do google.
so definitely an F.
I also have recruiters, numerous times, call me and discuss an opening position and tell me he will give me a call back a few hours later and never does. What kind of trick is that? At least 3 people did that to me, all of them males.
Okay, seems like everybody had a good share of good/bad experiences. I understand some recruiters are excellent professionals. But if one day I am in the position of hiring somebody, I think I would rather do the work on my work. Searching/interviewing people is the fun part. hehe
Here I am, one year out of college. I have been with this software company for a year, doing system admin's work. I found my passion in Linux and some dba duties. I know some facts about my current state:
1. underpaid by more than 30%
2. well rounded in nearly all aspect of IT
3. can probably...
LOL, mufasa, you should be an IT career counselor. Seems like you have everything people need when searching/changing a job. You should share your library with me sometime.
if you have large number of servers across multiple networks, it will be hard to be milliseconds accurate. some time hardware clock can be extremely accurate, but sync with your servers will be a big problem.
I agree with Mufa's point it's always a good idea to ask them what is the reason of the rejection. I think when I interview I would love to have that as a feedback. And the more places interview with the better I will do on the next one. Also it's a good time to review what skills the market is...
I think you shouldn't be too hang up on it. When company goes into a hiring process, a lot of things can happen. I don't know what size of company you are interviewing with, but I think small company tends to interview just for fun.
Also even if a job is posted, doesn't mean it's available. My...
1. Cisco is probably the hardest, and most marketable skills, also most rewarding. If you don't use it on your job, then you will be looking at spend 2-3 hrs a day after work to study for it. I recommend spend $100 get a small PIX firewall to play with at home.
2. Linux/Unis is a great...

Hi, all your linux gurus, I am wondering that how can I umount one of my san storage device before I go into a reboot/shutdown?
I am using a ubuntu/debian system. Thank you.
I have the problem resolved. I did
emca -deconfig dbcontrol db -repos drop
emca -config dbcontrol db -repos create
drop and created dbconsole. The problem was the database isn't started the corrected way. I started it now using dbstart script and everything worked.
Hi all,
I have a problem, after I change the hostname of the machine, the dbconsole will not restart. It says OC4J Configuration issue. /home/oracle/oracle/product/10.2.0/db_1/oc4j/j2ee/OC4j_DBConsole_XXXX.XXX.com_orcl not found.
XXXX.XXX is my new host.Domain.com address.
So I tried this...
My personal feeling is watch guard has really bad tech support. Also I have a device just shut it down itself and has to reset sometimes. With no errors what so ever, very annoying.
Very interesting, I would like to hear what your experience with Ubuntu. But I say it's impossible not to do a few command lines. Depends on what your need is, but for my work I prefer command lines over GUI. My home, obviously I need my GUI.
