We have an odd problem on our hands. We have a file server within our 2003 domain that serves most user files. Every once in a while a user will have issues connecting to one of the servers sharenames we have setup for the server. Instead of correctly seeing their folder, it comes up with a...
Here's the scenario:
Had a test server setup with SQL 2005 installed on it. Did a backup of our production WSS database and then moved the files to the test server with SQL. Did a restore on the test server of the databases, everything seemed fine. Installed WSS 2.0 on the server as a server...
Snap back to reality.....my bad. We already run a batch file to open ports...I guess I am just stuck on that idea and didn't think about being able to add programs. Will give that a try in the batch file as well...thanks.
So it's not a port issue then? I was able to disable the firewall and all seemed to work better. Is there no way to tell the firewall to allow what needs to be allowed? I would think you could at least allow the protocol that needs to be...but maybe that really isn't the answer if the...
Ok so I don't really think it's a delayed send. I think what is happening is the user's screen is not refreshing in Outlook for some reason. It shows the message in the outbox until someone either changes folders or a new message comes in. Is there a way to cure this? A refresh setting...
Doing a firmware update on the LTO drive seemed to fix that problem. Still seeing the same thing on the DLT drive though. This is probably a dumb question but is it possible to put an older version of the firmware on the drive? I highly doubt it but will ask.

I'm assuming this is a query lol. I don't do much, or haven't done much, with them. Can you explain how to use this? I don't do much with SQL or anything like that so haven't been exposed thus far.
Thanks.
I'd like to be able to track our SP2 deployment progress. I have created a sub-collection called SP2 but have no idea how to setup a membership rule or query to get clients that have sp2 into it. Can someone help with this?
Thanks,
Ed
If you are planning to use the terminal server for clients to connect to then you need to have licenses available or it will quit working after the 120 day trial. As long as you are only using the terminal server for administrators to connect to and do remote administration then you won't need...
The tape will eject from the Ultrium but does get sucked back in...I have no idea. With the DLT8K it turns green like it's ready to be taken out and then a bit later will turn to an amber light. Once you pretty the unload button it turns green within 2 seconds so it's not fully 'loading' it...

We have 3 servers running BAB. Two with version 9. One with version 11. Both the version nine servers are having problems with keeping the tapes ejected. They have a DLT 8000 and an LTO Ultrium tape drives. Both will eject the tape right after the job is completed and then take the tapes...
Are you able to logon in safe mode with the administrator account? If so there is a possibility that you can reset the password. There are utilities out there as well that you can create a boot disk and then reset the password with a command line type command.
Another question relating to this. What is everyone using for an Antivirus solution? Our license for Symantec is up in 2 months are we are starting to look for other options also. Are GFI and Trend Micro's solutions worth looking at? Are there others that are better?
Ed
I don't know where to post this. We have an Infocus LP500...native mode 800x600. We are trying to get this to display in 1024x768. It is spec'd to be able to do this. We have tried to use several laptops...all Dell ranging from and Inspiron 3800 to a Latitude C810. I'm able to see the...
If I am correct the "system", meaning Windows, only sees it as one hard drive. It doesn't know it's a mirror. Your RAID controller is in charge of that. So to answer your question, Windows will have no idea if a drive fails in the RAID 1.
