Printhead maybe causing it, but Im thinking about changing the Ink loader, because the head (electronics) that the ink buts up to melts as soon as it gets near the head. I can pull the ink loader out of the printer, leaving it connected and it still melts the wax continuously. Maybe Im wrong but...

The Cap home sensor did not see the sensors flag when expexted, the cap,wipe, purge clutch may be failing or jammed, check the paper-exit drive belt and the gear on the right end of the duplex roller shaft.
Any will do as long as you have a dust cover on it when not in use. We have several where I work and the dust covers help real well except for the spiders and rats that want to seem to climb into them.
Your problem sounds like the halogen bulbs are not heating in the drum heater. Go to Lowes or any hardware store and buy some replacement bulbs, this is way cheaper than ordering the replacement part.
I wouldnt try to strip down the printer without a manual, Im in the process of doing that right now. Looks to be a bit more tricky than the standard HP's Ive worked on.
