I (mistakenly) installed PhotoShop CS2 before uninstalling CS. So now when I right-click a photo in My Pictures, it still offers menu to "Edit with Photoshop", not Photoshop CS2. the "Send To..." DOES show CS2 however.
How can I set "Edit with PhotoShop" to say "Edit with Photoshop CS2" ? I'm...
How can I get rid of old email addresses in the autofill address feature on To:, CC:, etc?
I put new address in Contacts, and it comes up as additional address on To: - but I'd really like to get rid of it altogether.
Old stuff must be stored somewhere for email address autofill to do its...
How can I tell if I have Roxio driver? It needs security update if present.
Device Mgr has no mention of Roxio on CD/DVD devices. No tab shows "Roxio". Does that mean I'm not using Roxio?
How else to know?
Thanks !
There WAS a new driver, AND updated Media Player 10.
I installed both.
Only time will tell now since problem is (was?) intermittent. Just gotta wait a while to see if gurgle recurs.
The gurgling is more raspy static than a recording of bubbling water. No, no aquarium installed. That sound would probably always make me want to take a leak anyway.
I only reinstalled drivers few days ago -- sounds better, but still recurs occasionally. Which suggests "driver related" issue...
Dell 3000, with SoundMax. Drivers reinstalled from Dell drivers disk. Worst part: intermittent - happens if computer left on, unattended for over 20 minutes or so. On reboot, clear sound recovers. Occasionally happens spontaineously, but less often since driver reinstallation.
Could some...
Thanks, linney. No backups of profile (which is where reminders are probably stored). I just thought XP would maintain a list of reminders somewhere that I could access, unformatted would be fine. Kinda like a "Reminder Recycle Bin". Not life-or-death situation.
I mistakenly clicked "Dismiss" for an item in Outlook reminder screen. Any way of getting this back, or at least read the details somewhere? Can't find in Recycle Bin.
Thanx !
In Outlook: View / check Outlook Bar shows the Outlook bar along left side. But the links say " Unable to display the folder. Microsoft Outlook could not access the specified folder location. The folder no longer exists."
I think I clobbered something. Any way of getting my Outlook Bar links back?
Expand command gives DOS msg:
MS Cabinet Extraction Tool, Ver 16, 1.00.603.0 8/14/97
ERROR: d:\wmexe.ex_ is not a cabinet file.
There is a new (to me) file extension in the driver folder: winmodem.VX_ What is the third letter, please? It is not identified anywhere per my 7 Nov 05 msg...
I downloaded the driver from US Robotics site. Extracted to the floppy with exactly same results. Complete with wm.ex_.ex_ .
Oh well, at least I selected the right driver!
XP only allows changing the file name, can't change the extension from ex_ to exe . Don't want to drop into DOS.
Other extension is vx_ . That extension not even listed on
http://filext.com/alphalist.php?extstart=%5EV .
It's the stupid problems that are the most vexing!
The driver was downloaded from driverguide.com, and files are clean. Good suggestions tho!
I've seen file names like this before, but didn't give them a second thought. I assumed that the installation process would straighten them out. But no, XP simply says "wmex_.ex_ is not wmexe.exe" and...
Downloaded a set of files for winmodem. Last character of names have underscore ( wmex_.ex_ ) and so XP won't recognize the file when looking for wmexe.exe .
I unzipped from the download folder directly to floppy; underscore files are on floppy for use on another computer.
Do those underscore...
XP/Home running fine. Had to repair, now running sloooow.
Clean repair (no errors), all antispyware, antivirus, and registry cleaner run. No extraneous devices during installation, like thumb drives, etc. HDD defragged.
Any ideas why so pokey?
Thanks !!!
Had gone to usbman & driverguide (drivers/all) and was overwhelmed with the cryptic names on the choices. Belkin site seems to be the clearest choice.
Thanks all.
