Okay.
Further testing shows that I can VNC or Remote Desktop to the machine when connected to the 2003 VPN, but only from the VPN server itself.
However, I can VPN/Remote Desktop to the machine from any machine on my network when connected to the 2000 VPN box.
Any ideas?

I have a branch office that has several PCs running XP. They have hardcoded IPs provided by the ISP and they use the Internet to VPN back to our offices here. We have a primary VPN server (Running 2003 Enterprise) and a backup (Running 2000 Advanced Server, soon to be 2003 Enterprise).

John,
While that is my theory too, my CEO is a "we paid for it, so it better be used" type of guy. I have no choice in the matter. But thanks for your words... at least lets me know someone else thinks like me.

Did you find any more information regarding HIPAA compliancy? I've got serious issues and am fighting internal staff who want unbridled access.
I could really use help.
I am the systems administrator for a non-profit organization. I have two identical Dell PowerEdge 1550 servers, both running Windows 2000 Advanced Server. We have just recently subscribed to a Microsoft licensing program, and with it came Windows 2003 Enterprise. So obviously, we plan on...
Thanks for the replies guys.
@mhkwood: I downloaded Ethereal and tried to use it, but it said that the trace log was not readable, so I pretty much gave up on it after that.
The servers here are Windows 2000 Advanced Server with the latest service packs and the clients are Windows 2000 with...
I'm currently on the road at a new facility my organization has purchased. They decided that they wanted the 10 machines at this facility to VPN back to our network over the Internet.
To make a long story short, I cannot get the VPN to connect to my business network from the facility. However...
Hello,
I'm wondering if anyone else out there has installed multiple modems for use with RRAS on a 2K machine. I purchased 4 Conexant PCI modems and installed them.
Windows 2000 sees them and let me install the driver, but when installed, I get cannot open port for 3 of the 4 modems... Anyone...
I was just wondering if any of you have dealt with very loud fans on your Cisco switches. I have some 3500 series switches and a couple of them have some fans that could bust an eardrum.
If so, what did you do to fix the noise?
I was wondering if anyone else here uses File Access and Monitor software? I have a pretty mission critical network that is heavily confidential and I'd like to have better control on knowing who has accessed and edited files, and the like.
Is there any canned software out there that can do...
I have a very odd problem, which is more of an annoyance that occurs on a couple different machines on my network and randomly.
The problem is when someone goes to say File | Print, or File | Save As in various Office applications, the popup dialog box does not show up on top like normal, but...
Interesting... thanks for the response although now I don't know which to believe. I spoke to another person about the same problem and he said that the calendar information is stored in the person's profile.
Anyways, I'll try what you mentioned.
