Ouch! If thats the case, I'm back to square one:
There is a load meter on the front and the existing system draws 31 Amps. But we are changing it to retain one of the three MCC cabs and replacing the other two with 6 x G650 gateways. Hence the need to find specs.
I never realised that the load can be measured without breaking the circuit. If so, I can probably get a sparky (Electrician) to check it.
You're correct, this is an Australian installation. I might have a talk to one of the local UPS suppliers as well.
Thanks mate.
I do realise that this is 'worst case scenario' but what figure shall one use to calculate a realistic scenario?
I don't have the option to measure the load at the moment because it would mean a power outage while I do this and the site is a call centre for emergency services...
I need to spec a UPS for an installation where we have a mixture of one MCC cabinet with 5 carriers plus 6 x G650's.
The MCC cabinet is existing and is a 48VDC and I know that G650's can be powered by 48VDC as well.
I need to find out what the load will be of fully loaded carriers. I did find...
Does anybody know of a tool that can extract all the info out of the switch (VDNs, vectors, skills, etc) and produce graphical call flow charts? I don't think Visual Vectors will cut it and I am hoping that there might be some third party app out there.
Basically, you set what is called 'Remote Access Extension' via change remote-access. Add an extension number in your DDI range, assign a barrier code (PIN basically). You can also give each remote access extension a COR, COS and an expiry date.
The user dials in to the remote access extension...
Dufus, does it mention which country this is for? Looking at the ringtone cadence (1000 on, 3000 off), it looks as US type tones so the country code is probably '1'.
The system I am working on is located in New Zealand, it is possible that Australian tone patterns are used but I cannot find...
Had a lookie under "change system country" and there is only a "tone detection" setting. There are some specs in the doco called "Enterprise Communications Server
System Description" but it is not detailed enough.
I guess I have to rely on Avaya.......
Here is a challenge for the experts out there:
Does anybody out there know where I can find specs for the tone cadencies for analogue circuits for an S8700?
The country code is '2', system located in New Zealand and we are integrating to a third party recorder who needs to know the tone...
You can indeed have CLAN's on R8! Even on R7's (that is when they first became available).
The difference is that there is more functionality in R9.5, ASA access via CLAN for instance.
Before that, the main uses of CLAN's were for CMS and Audix integration.
We are trying to integrate a Rightfax server via BRI using a TN556 as per the link below. Does anyone have any setup notes or generally useful info?

CLAN's were first available on V7. We used them for the CMS link, worked great.
Having said that, I believe that ASA connectivity via CLAN only became available in V9.5.........
Thanks mate. We tried just connecting it up, using the same settings on the Aspect as was used to the QSIG tie with the Ericsson and it aint working.
If you have some notes, for either the Avaya or the Aspect side, I would be eternally grateful.
PS. I am a project manager for the integrator...
We are replacing an Aspect system in New Zealand with an S8700 and the client has asked if we could set up a temporary tie line during the transition period. The Aspect was previously connected to an Ericsson MD110 via QSIG so that is the protocol we would want to use (apparently the Aspect...

We are installing 2 x S8700's along with a CMS and IA LX. can anybody tell me which ports in the firewall need to be opened up for the S8700's to be able to communicate with both the CMS and the IA LX? I've searched Avaya Support and I cannot find anything.
Thanks in advance.
