Click on one of the lines in PREVIEW mode. Now bring up the right-mouse ChartOptions dialog. Now go to the DATA tab and you'll see options to enable datatext above the line markers and other options to choose the numeric formatting.

Right click on a Y-Axis label in PREVIEW mode and bring up the Grids/Scales dialog. Now go to the last tab up top on the right. Here you can specify a user-line at any value you like.
If you need fancier support (many lines, or the value and string (aka "85% mark ->"), then you may want to...
You could also set the line-color to "transparent" so it is totally invisible.
If that doesn't work, you can also look into our 3rd party add-on, CRChart which has specific support for setting axis min/max values at runtime via a formula or field.

If all else fails, more capable gantt charts are part of our CRChart add-in for Crystal Reports (see any of the @GANTT family of macros).

Try this. Create your chart as a LINE chart first. Then bring up the ChartOptions dialog and choose the option to show Lines without markers. Now click on the lines you want to become bars and bring up the right-mouse SERIES OPTIONS... dialog and emphasize these as BARS.

I think you need a "real" version of Crystal Reports, not the stripped-down version that comes for free with VisualStudio.net.
If you can see the chart in CR in preview mode, then just right-click on the line and bring up the "FORMAT SELECTED ITEM..." dialog.

If all else fails, this could probably be done with our CRChart add-in, using the @ASL macro, which would let you set any of the text strings in the legend and would "override" whatever Crystal tried to put in there.

Please contact me if you have any trouble using CRChart. There's a couple of boxplot example .rpts in the demo, but I have even more cluttering my hard disk :-)

You can also set a single user-defined line to a constant value in the "Grids and scales" dialog. Its in the last tab on the right. Once it appears, you can click on it and changes it style/thickness/color etc...

This is doable in CR.
1) Click on a y-axis label and bring up the Grids/scales dialog.
2) Go to the last tab on the right/top. There you should see an option to type in a "user defined" line at a value of your choosing. Once you see the line, you can click on the line and format its...
Thanks Ido :-)
Yes our CRChart add-in does really great boxplot (box and whisker) charts.

Yes. Right click on your chart and bring up "Chart Options". Then go to the LAYOUT tab and select the dual-y option. Now the DUal-Y tab is activated and you can populate what beloongs to Y1 and Y2.

If all else fails, this kind of data (with a running total) would make a good waterfall chart. We support this in our CRChart charting add-in for CR, but it may be available in a newer version of CR?

Try clicking on one of the Y-Axis labels and then bring up the grid/scales dialog. The right-most tab on the top should bring you to a place where you can create a static "user defined line". Type in the value you want.
If you need more complex control (multiple user lines, dynamic user lines...
If the bar chart was created with a Date Axis, then you could click on the x-axis label and go to the grid/scales options. There you should find an option for numeric formatting and the ability to change to Jan 2008.
If the bar chart is a basic bar char, then the label "01/2008" is being...
I would think it could be possible creating all the different permutation of chart and then at runtime suppressing the ones you don't want.
If all else fails (which it should not), then you could consider our CRChart add-in package, which has macros to conditionally suppress risers at runtime...
If all else fails, this problem can be solved with our CRChart add-in for Crystal Reports. There are specific macros to dynamically color series lines based on values. You could also set "color bands" on the background of the chart to illustrate similiar effects..

I'd like to know more about this if anyone is still monitoring this particular thread. I've written various macros in our CRChart add-on to solve these kinds of issues, but there may also be a way to do it with basic CR chart techniques.
