Hello! I am trying to setup an access form for routine data entry. I am wanting to insert the 'author' information (that Office automatically inserts into the file properties) into the form automatically without the ability of the user to intervene. I want this so that I can determine who...

Ok, we have an administrative assistant that sets up the calendar of her boss from her machine. However, whenever her boss looks at his calendar on his own machine, all the events in it are one hour before they are supposed to be. Its like on her machine an appointment is set...

Hey Everyone. Hope I am in the right place.
I need to know if there is a way to scroll text using animations or something in Powerpoint 2000. I have PP2000 but I can purchase 2002 if I have to have that.
What I have is the 2800+ person list of people that died at WTC on 9-11 and I need to be...
If they are clunking, use them as door stops or as deco arrangements in your garden.
Thats about all they are good for.
Sorry about your bad experience. Buy some new ones

If the mobo cant find the hdds (either of them) even using an auto-detect, then they are probably dead. Have you tried a different mobo yet? What about the old freeze-dried method? Have you tried it?

Never had a Maxtor drop on me before. I have installed about 40-60 over the past couple years in various machines.
As a matter of fact, that is the only Manufacturer's HDD that I will put in a system - new or old. I have tried the other 3 major brands and none of them perform as well as the...
I can send and receive new mail, just cant get the old stuff.
I have hooked the old hard drive into the new machine so that i copy drive to drive - like through Windows Explorer.
Thanks. A+, MCP, MCP+I, MCSE Windows NT 4.0, MCSE Windows 2000 Early Achiever with Security Emphasis
That would be a great idea, except that I cannot get the Import/Export function to work on the old machine. It comes up with an error that closes out the program. So, I am stuck with trying to copy the files some other way.
Any more ideas, though? A+, MCP, MCP+I, MCSE Windows NT 4.0, MCSE...

Edward,
I think I have heard of it being done before. Let me check into my archives and call some friends to see if I can find it. I think it actually had something to do with changing the user account on the W2K Server to be NT-compatible and then changing the RAS workstation to forward login...
Ed,
Seems to me that maybe your RAS machine (NT Workstation, maybe) was set to using NT-compatible authentication instead of W2K-compatible. Could be - just an idea.
Glad you got it working!

When combining share and NTFS level permissions, the most restrictive permission applies.
When using a peer-to-peer environment, you must always have the same username/password combination on both computers that you want to communicate. A+, MCP, MCP+I, MCSE Windows NT 4.0, MCSE Windows 2000...
Edward,
Is the user in question located across a domain trust?
Also, have you tried deleting his username and profile and recreating it? This would reset all ACLs/SACLs/DACLs and this might help in creating a 'new user' for him.
Keep us posted...

The new W2K exams ARE very hard. I personally think that the 210 was the hardest I took, simply because of the sheer magnitude of the work required for answers. Of course, I got a 970 on it, but it WAS still quite hard and long (and brain intensive).
Hey y'all, keep up the good work! When you...
They could have a proxy server setup that is caching all pages passed through it. If this is the case, then they will have a REAL HARD time getting it to not cache a single page or two (or 20, etc).

Ed,
Is this user of the same type as everyone else? Also, is this user a member of any other groups that the rest of them are not? Group membership plays a role too.
