I am trying to edit some AVI files that came from my video camera which I've copied to my Windows XP computer. I recently upgraded to Quicktime Pro to allow me to edit (cut out part of) the files, but when I try to export back to AVI, I get the above error message and it says "a file could not...
You know, the suggestion to check which browser is recognized in Windows was the answer . . . there was none there. I checked my browser (Firefox) and voila! all my links work.
Thanks so much!

I had a problem installing a security update for Windows XP (kb944338) and was advised to un-install Explorer 7.0 and then re-install it to deal with the problem. I did that, and it seemed to eliminate my updating problems, but now any html links I had / have outside of my bookmark links in my...
I am buying Adobe Premier Elements version 4.0 in order to work with a camcorder, but also, to get video from video tapes (old VCR tapes) to put together some old family memories. I have been looking around, and cannot find out if this program will allow you to import from that source. The...
I have Office 2003 and have had no problem hearing sounds attached to PowerPoint shows others have designed. When I tried to attach (following all the correct steps, I believe) my own sound (recorded as either an MP3 or a WAVE file - tried both versions)to a slide, there is no sound. However...
Thank you very much for your detailed reply. I got rid of the backup update files, and removed the two huge zip files that had appeared. I ran my anti-virus program, adaware & spybot after turning off system restore as advised --- little was found, but when all was said and done, I recovered a...
Is it safe to delete these files? I have one called USmon-on_demand_2006_08_10_23_53_10_full_dmp.zip that is over 20000 KB. A lot seem to have been added since the last Windows update.
They have cut down the amount of space I have in my C partition drastically. can they be deleted?
Also, what...
Hello, Marcus
I am working on a PC. And I've been able to solve this problem, actually, by simply downloading a newer Acrobat Reader. I was originally afraid to do this, as I feared my Acrobat program, for which I paid, would not be the default reader, but when I first loaded a PDF after the...
I've upgraded my Netscape Browser to 8.0. Since doing that, no pdfg files will display in either Netscape navigator or Firefox (1.5). They will display in Internet Explorer, however.
I'm using Adobe Acrobat 6.0.3 as my viewer of Adobe files, and it has always worked well before.
Any ideas?

Hello, 020785
Thank you for your response.
Connections seem to be fine, and it is the default printer. It was being used on a home network, and I think something in that setup may be messed up, but I'm not too familiar with networks and may have missed something.

Sky14657:
The NT driver did not work, but,I have noticed that, after a couple or restarts, that the drivers for the printer appeared on their own . . . at least, I'm able to see the printer in the printer list and select it as my default printer.
So all is well.

I have inherited an Epson Stylus Color 400 printer. I'd liuke to have it print from a Windows 2000 system, but there do not seem to be any drivers anywhere that allow WIN 2000 to recognize this printer.
Any ideas where I can get this driver, or if it exists? I've seen drivers for WIN NT, WIN 98...
Hello, felixc
I'll hold off on the upgrade for a bit . . . it's another $50 US, I believe. I'll wait 'til I master Studio 8 at least a little more.

Hello, Felixc:
Looks like you put me in the right direction; I had the settings for a mike line in as default, and never dreamed to check it.
Thank you!

I'm using Studio 8 for the first time. I am attempting to create a digitized show from some videos. I have my VCR hooked up to my computer with a composite connection, and I can see and hear the video playing when I capture the video. When I go to play it back in edit mode, the video plays, but...
Thanks for the advice.
Just one more question. If I was to use System Restore to go back to before I messed with the users profiles, would that fix the problem? Or is it not worth doing? I believe I changed the "guest" settings using userpasswords2 as well, although it seemed to load OK.
TeachR
Hello, bcastner
Looks like you nailed it . . . I am using XP home, and thought nothing of using userpasswords2 as I had come across it, and it seemed like a logical thing to do.
So my question now becomes: Did I screw anything up in a serious way? I still can use my admin account as before...
