I'm using Studio 8 for the first time. I am attempting to create a digitized show from some videos. I have my VCR hooked up to my computer with a composite connection, and I can see and hear the video playing when I capture the video. When I go to play it back in edit mode, the video plays, but there is no sound.

I have checked the sound settings and they appear to be correct; I am set up to record the sound. I am using Studio 8 with a new computer and Windows XP.

Any ideas?

When you go in the Setup-Capture source menu, there should be a list of available sound inputs that can be used, depending on your sound card and its drivers. Are there several choices that you can try?

Hello, Felixc:

Looks like you put me in the right direction; I had the settings for a mike line in as default, and never dreamed to check it.

Thank you!

By the way, did you consider moving to Studio9? It is less buggy.

Hello, felixc

I'll hold off on the upgrade for a bit . . . it's another $50 US, I believe. I'll wait 'til I master Studio 8 at least a little more.
