I work for an IT company who is about to start offering ADSL connections to clients and so need to get up to speed on it.

Can anyone point me to a tutorial for setting up both USB and router based adsl connections (ie exactly what has to be configured on each machine on the network to get it to work).

I use a USB modem which appears to connect normally to several different ISPs, yet once it's connected, no information can be sent (ie can't access webpages). Any ideas.

I've been using a 30GB 5400 rpm Maxtor drive for some time and am used to its near silent operation. I purchased a Maxtor 60GB 7200 rpm drive and it is considerably noisier than the older drive. Is this normal due to the higher speed or is there likely to be a fault with the drive. Thanks Edmund

I'm not using internet connection sharing as far as i know, but not sure. It was set almost automatically by small business server. Each computer has firewall client software if that's any help.

yeah, not sure exactly what to change them to, but tried everything i could think of. yahoo help said to open ports 5050 and 80 to their servers, cs1.yahoo.com, cs2.yahoo.com etc. but not sure how to do this
