Corel Draw will import a psd file and the one I tried should the different parts within the object manager. Corel Draw is primarily for vector work its PhotoPaint which is included in the suite that is closer to Photoshop. X6 is pretty up to date with Adobe versions but the latest CS Suite may...
I'm not sure you'll get the result you expect, but you can make a duplicate of your object directly over the top and set it to overprint. In v11 you cannot see the effect, this was introduced in X3 I think. Be warned though a Pantone blue with a Pantone yellow overprint will NOT give you...
A basic brush stroke is an outline effect on a line and if viewed in wirframe you can see the line but not the brush stroke. Select the brushstroke/artistic media group - right click and select break artistic media apart - you should now be able to weld.

Try exporting as cmx, import that and then resave. CMX strips out styles which can get corrupted with frequent use. If you are finding a drawing which crashes on open start Draw with F8 pressed and accept factory defaults. If after all of this files are still large it may well be that that is...
If you are talking about making panaramas then although PhotoPaint has a 'stitching' feature I personally don't find it easy to use but go to www.Serif.com and look up Panarama plus, very easy to use and if there is enough overlap makes a good job.

For one of the better DXF converters go to Aidsoftware.co.uk or look up Bezarc it can produce correct dxf from ai or cmx files and Draw V8 will export to ai at least.

Can't remember if it's on the toolbar by default or if I put it there. If it's default - make sure nothing is selected and it will be on the top toolbar - OR - options - customisation - commands - toolbars (from dropdown) drag 'treat as filled' icon onto your desired position.
It is well worth...
Depending on version, X3 and X4 come with some training videos. If you have specific questions ask here, Corel Draw is a very intuative programme anyway but some of the terminology differs from Illustrator.
