Hi Joast,
Sorry about the delay in responding. I have used version 8 for many years but I didn't know they had reached version 20.
It may be worth looking for some details on the Internet about later versions.
Hi Simo,
There were a lot of manuals about in the day, mainly dBase III of which I still have a couple. I will have a look through these to see which is closest to what you mention in your text.

Hi,
I am using PSP version 8, so your screens may be a little different to mine. Version 5 is very old.
I was assuming your main screen contained HELP not one of the sub screens. There were a lot of improvements made for versions 7 onwards.
Have you by any chance changed the browser preferences without realising. Take a look at the Help section for the Browser on top right of the main screen.

Hi Joe,
In the long run you will be better off with Visual FoxPro, even one of the older versions. Language is the same as dBase but Foxpro Updates advanced much quicker.

Hi,
Yes, that is what we would do until the later versions appeared.
You could try ebay for a copy of Dbase IV, I have seen it advertised on the odd occasion.
After some of the quirks in the old Dbase programs I started to use Foxpro which I am still doing today.

Hi Joe
Upto Dbase III plus, memo fields were not easy to access for inputting to.
Move the cursor until it reaches the memo field, then press the combination of CTRL and PgDown keys. The screen should clear and the Dbase word processor appear at the top. You are now in that word processing...
Hi,
In your file explorer search for *.dbf and the result should show all the dBase files. You then have the names to give you access to these files.

I can't seem to emulate what you did. Everything seems to be working okay as far as I can see. I have not used the pen tool a great deal though. When I have had rare but similar problems with other tools, I reload the program with the discs supplied, this then enables normal functioning.
Hope...
Hello,
I also use PSP8 on a regular basis but have never come across this problem. I will try and emulate what you describe and let you know what happens.
Will get back to yuo asap.
I currently use PSP 8 in Windows 10 and this type of thing happens to me now and again, I previously used Windows XP which always worked fine.
So now I usually reload PSP and all is okay. What platform are you running in?
