I don't have the sp 2 windows disk, if I try to use the windows disk I have I get an error telling me I have a newer version installed. My pc maker installed sp2 for me.

Yes it looks that way, I created a new folder on my desktop (I just called it new folder) and it does the same thing, the way it looks is that any new folders are being setup like this.
But one thing I forgot to mention, My Docs and My Comp icons on the desktop do not do this, they both have Explore as the first item, unused desktop and other icons leading to folders has this problem, icons leading to a program do not, does that help?
I have now disabled all context menu items using shellexview, rebooted and no help, search is still there at the top of my menu list. Like I said before I think it is an item left behind after uninstalling some software but have no idea what software it was. I'm flabbergasted.

I did 4 scans using AVG, windows defender, spybot and Ad-Aware se. They all showed pretty much the same things bit it didn,t help my menus. And yes when I typed none in the reg editor as explained above nothing happened.
