how does one change the size of the minimized title bar.?

i read somewhere that if i follow the following steps in the windows registry

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\CONTROL PANEL\DESKTOP\WINDOWMETRICS

and change Minwidth then the title bar would be smaller or bigger accordingly.

however i could not find "Minwidth" anywhere

Maybe I am missing the point but, can you not drag it to make it bigger or smaller?

Right click the taskbar and check off "Lock the Taskbar" then put the mouse pointer on the edge of the taskbar until it chages to a double arrow, hold down left mouse button and drag to desired width.

rakeshsahni desires to increase the size of icons shown in minimized tasks on the taskbar.

Increasing the Taskbar width will not do this. Nor will increasing font size, choosing Large Fonts for the Start Menu, or changing any of the myriad settings under Desktop Options, Appearance, Advanced.

In short, you cannot adjust the size of the icons shown on minimuzed tasks in the taskbar.

maybe i am not explaining properly,

i do NOT want to increase the size of the icons.

i want to change the size of the MINIMIZED title bar.

i want to do this so that i can have more title bars minimized which are visible.

despite all my efforts the mouse pointer does not turn into a double arrow once the title bar is minimized.

MinWidth default width is 154 pixels. You need to add a new DWord Value in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\CONTROL PANEL\DESKTOP\WINDOWMETRICS named MinWidth and give it a decimal value less than 154. Logoff and Logon for it to take effect.

So I was right....anyway

Right click the taskbar and check off "Lock the Taskbar"

I meant as in remove the check from that option if it is checked, if it is not checked then do nothing.

With the check not present, Place the cursor on the edge of the taskbar NOT the edge of the minimized titlebar and you should be able to drag the taskbar up to increase its size.

You still do not get it. The question is to increase the size of minimized tasks, not increase the size of the taskbar itself.

Increasing the Taskbar width will not do this. Nor will increasing font size, choosing Large Fonts for the Start Menu, or changing any of the myriad settings under Desktop Options, Appearance, Advanced.

The OP wants to be able to see more titlebars when they are minimized, that either pertains to having more titlebars in the taskbar, of the same size, which is solved by my method, as tere will be more available space for titlebars to occupy.
Or
The OP has the "Group similar items in the taskbar" setting checked. This will cause windows that are of the same app, i.e windows explorer to combine into a singe button in the taskbar it will then just display a menu to select the window to be restored.

Show how your method would make the minimized title bars either smaler or bigger accordingly.

It does not do this. It makes the taskbar smaller or bigger accordingly, which was not the question asked.

Since its not possible to change the size of the actual titlebar, the best possible answer is to enlarge the taskbar to allow for more titlebars to fit in it.

Group Similar taskbar buttons" in Taskbar Properties.

"Displays taskbar buttons for files opened by the same program in the same area of the taskbar. In addition, if the taskbar becomes so crowded with buttons that the width of the buttons shrinks beyond a certain width, then the buttons for the same program are collapsed into a single button. Clicking the button lets you access the document you want. Right-clicking the button lets you close all the documents you want".

See what these offer?

97. Decrease the Size of Taskbar Buttons
86. Taskbar Grouping by # or Least , Most Used

coming back to the initial question, these are all work arounds,

can we change the size of a minimised title bar?

No.
