    FOUND A SOLUTION!!! I got it a while ago but forgot to share til now. Here it is.. go to START -> RUN -> type regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\wintrust.dll presto!! now tell all those that need it, and i know it's not just me. no one should go through the hell i did. thanks for everyone's tip anyway.

    Actually I tried reinstalling but a prompt comes up saying I already have a newer version installed..then aborts. Although, I dont know how's it's possible to have a newer version of 6.0 SP1. btw..how do I repair (I'm using XP)? That's something I'd like to try.

    My problem is similar but not quite exact. I have no problem with msn.com or hotmail. I do have problem browsing on to ALL secure sites. My encryption is 128. And when I try to re-install IE6.0, the installation stops and a prompt says that I have a newer version already installed. Then it quits.

    I mentioned those dll files because I was reading another thread about ActiveX. Sometimes a prompt will state not all page content will be shown due to ActiveX settings. It was suggested that those dll files could be related. I'll definitely post the solution once I find it..no one should go...
