Thanks Avayaconsultant- I have a couple of questions:
1. You say you're running your VPN "into" the 2600 router? Wouldn't that mean that the router could not perform QoS on the traffic since it would all be encrypted?
2. If QoS is implemented on the switches BEHIND the pix, does that mean...
my impression was that the routers will route the data using QoS to break up large data packets, etc. (my understanding of what the QoS actually does is limited)... would this not be the same as communicating between two IOS routers directly connected to the internet? The only difference being...
Hi all,
My company has two offices on opposite sides of the continent, and we are currently running a VPN between the two using Cisco PIX 515E firewalls.
We have an AVAYA IP Office PBX in location A, and are planning to deploy a second unit in location B, using the VPN for voice traffic...
I have this same problem- we have mostly 4602SW phones here. I believe we have 2.0. I tried un-checking "allow dircet media path" on my extension and I haven't had a one way call to this phone since, but it could be coincidence.
I am also looking for a solution to this problem.
Hi Everyone-
I'm still trying to nail down my problems with one way communication on my 4602SW IP phones. All of the IP phones on this network have static IP addresses, and therefore do not have entries in the DHCP server. Could this be an issue? Does the IPO use DHCP to try and make...
Thanks for the reply!
The VPN is being implement using two cisco PIX firewalls. Aren't those what would have to be "layer 3"? How do I determine that? I know the PIX lists support for VOIP...
My company is setting up a phone system in our california branch. We are deploying a VPN, and would like to take advantage of it to send voice calls over the link. I've read up on how to do this with two IPoffice units, but is it still possible using another system on the other end? The...
Thanks for your input.
My switch reports that there is very little load (1-2%) on the 1000base-T fibre connection between the buildings.. even with calls and file transfers taking place. My switches support 802.1Q QOS, but I don't have it configured since the installer wasn't familiar with...
Hello all,
I have an IPoffice install with around 25 or so IP phones in two buldings. I have the two buildings linked through fibre between two D-link switches.
I have a problem where I occasionally get calls that only have one-way communication, or calls get dropped. This happens to...
