My company is setting up a phone system in our california branch. We are deploying a VPN, and would like to take advantage of it to send voice calls over the link. I've read up on how to do this with two IPoffice units, but is it still possible using another system on the other end? The system being considered there is the Shoreline Shoregear VoIP system. The shoreline engineers claim it's possible, but I want to make sure before I stop trying to convince them to get an IPO. Thanks!

Yep should be, as long as each system is conected to a layer 3 switch, (normal stuff supports voice call prio etc etc) then this in theory should be possibly, to proove you could always get someone with a demo kit to connect onto the shoreline system?

Thanks for the reply!

The VPN is being implement using two cisco PIX firewalls. Aren't those what would have to be "layer 3"? How do I determine that? I know the PIX lists support for VOIP...
