    2 Internet connections for one network

    I use a Cisco 1811 for my corp. network. Works wonders. expensive, though. I have my DNS records to point my MX and CNAME records to both my IPs. so when one link is down, emails and web requests automatically hop over to the other link.

    First off, i use a full C subnet (192.168.0.x) Generally, I used my high IPs for servers and shared stuff( 200 to 205 are servers, 210-215 are shared network printers) 100s I use for people who use static IPs the low numbers i let DHCP take care of.. hope this helps!

    Morning All, I want to add SBS 2003 to our current 2000 Environment (non-SBS). Is there a way to simply add the server to the domain, but NOT take control of DC/FSMO/etc/etc? I want to tinker with the new stuff before we go all-out on a 2003 environment. Thanks!

    try doing this : static (inside,outside) 192.168.0.1 192.168.1.2 netmask 255.255.255.255 without the last 2 0's at the end. I believe those are implied, and you don't need them. (actually, i believe i never used them on a command line, and the command would bounce if i manually added those...

    just as a follow up: i got this done.. i manually copied all the files from the old profile into the new one, but i just had to delete the temp inet files directory first, since thats where it was dying. (long filenames) thanks again!

    Hello, I just migrated from a basic peer 2 peer network to an AD environment. However, some of my users are accidently logging onto their local accounts instead of the domain account. Is there a way I can disable these local logins? thanks!

    Get a list of all directories and sub directories

    goto a command prompt (Start->run->cmd) type : cd\ dir *. /s /a >DirectoryTree.txt open up the file in wordpad/notepad. done!

    My CISCO 1811 is also ISR, and does indeed have firewall functions. So assuming the ISR series has all that stuff built-in, you're good to go.
