Copying different files to Flash Drives

Thanks for the enumeration info Rick998. I was not aware of this. Does Unix have the same enumeration issue? Andrzejek - the issue is I have 1000 separate files named 1.txt through 1000.txt, for example. I want file 1.txt on one flash drive, 2.txt on the next flash drive, 3.txt on the...

Copying different files to Flash Drives

In the near future I will have the need to copy a different file to a USB flash drive. To explain - I have, for example, 1000 different files and each file needs to be copied to a different flash drive. Is there software/hardware that I can automate to perform this operation. I envision a USB...

How to restrict RDP users to the desktop

Web Access is great for "in the office" users but for users who are out of the office then you need an SSL certificate to use remote apps on Windows 2019. I was trying to avoid that expense, if possible.

How to restrict RDP users to the desktop

How can I restrict remote desktop users to just the server desktop? I don't want them to have the the ability to use anything on the start menu, file explorer, the system tray, etc. Just the server desktop they log into and the icons placed there. Is this possible?

We're getting ready to deployee Win

We're getting ready to deployee Windows 2019 servers with Active Directory. These servers will be used as data servers and users will access the servers via remote desktop connection. In the past, we've used server 2008 and remote apps where the remote apps were installed on the user's PC's...

Remote Apps vs Remote Desktop Connection

I have several SaaS servers where the users access the servers via Remote Apps (Win2008). Is there a way to restrict users to using only the Remote Apps and not use MSTS instead, which gives them too much access to the server?

VM Workstation will not shut down via the command line

I am trying to use the vmrun command line to programatically (via a .bat file) shut down VM Workstation but it's not working. I'm not getting any error messages, just nothing happens. However, I can start VM Workstation using the -T ws start command with no issues. VM Workstation is running on...

Calculate the difference betwwn two times

Thank you for your prompt replies. SCO's date function doesn't recognize the -d but has a -u in it's place. However, I like the last two options give them a go this afternoon.

Calculate the difference betwwn two times

I'm trying to determine the time difference between the current time and when a print job was created. I'm using the 6th field in lpstat -o to collect the time the print job was created as follows: lpstat -o returns this: LP07-48943 root 476 Sep 21 10:49 So $6 = 10:49 If the...

    Kernel won't re-link - kslgen error

The reason for the re-link was due to an increase in the ptty count. Had to increase from 32 to 64 which requires a re-link of the kernel.

    Kernel won't re-link - kslgen error

Frederico, Sorry for the lack of detail. This is SCO OpenServer 5.0.6 and it is running on a VMware ESXi server. (Was moved from a VM Server 2.0 machine to the ESXi server about 4 months ago.) I'm not at the server location so I can't be 100% certain if a drive has been added but I highly...

    Kernel won't re-link - kslgen error

When re-linking the kernel, I'm getting the following error: kslgen: cannot determine major/minor numbers for node /dev/DEVFS I don't know enough about SCO to know where or how to fix this. I can't relink the kernel until this is resolved. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

    RV042 Gateway to Gateway issues

Got it figured out! You need to enable NAT-T in VPN->Gateway-to-Gateway->Advanced to make this work.

    RV042 Gateway to Gateway issues

I am trying to create gateway-to-gateway vpn connection with 2 RV042s. Main router gets an WAN IP address of 192.168.1.40 with a LAN IP address of 172.16.1.250. Remote router is DHCP with LAN IP address of 192.168.30.254. The tunnel connects but I cannot ping devices on either end of the...

Win 8 adds computer name to Remote Desktop Connection login

That's the way I originally built it but it kept adding the domain to the user name. I opened mstsc but it wouldn't allow me to edit the domain so I deleted it and then rebuilt and saved it without the credentials. Then I could go back and opt to save the credentials - now it works! I've only...

Win 8 adds computer name to Remote Desktop Connection login

When I try to log into a remote server, my Windows 8.1 laptop adds my laptop computer name as the domain name to my user name: <computer name>\my user name. Obviously, the remote server is not part of my domain name and I cannot seem to remove this from the RDP login screen. This forces me to...
