help connecting to my cisco 2800

Oh, as an add on, it's asking you for an IP address because the default for putty is SSH.... change that to serial and type in your com port number you are attached to (it will be a USB port that you can find in Device Manager).... If you are attached via CAT5e - RJ45 then you are connecting...

help connecting to my cisco 2800

As you are on the console, use the "break" command within 60 seconds (probably less).... The break command is putty is a special command and as such you must do the following: Right click the top bar (the bar where the maximise/minimise and remove buttons sit). That should bring up a menu...

    Juniper SRX1800 LAC

This is what I though would be a simple question, but it appears that no one can help and I cannot find it documented anywhere with Juniper (Surprise).... I am configuring a new ISP consisting of all Juniper kit as follows: MX240 - PE/LNS MX240 - PE/LNS MX240 Core - JVC MX240 Core - JVC...

    PE to CE running IPv6

Okay, apologies, that was a bit quick solving it myself....... I decided to use an alternative method, which has worked. It's just easier to manually set an RID ... so, I did and it is all up and running. I can live with that.

    PE to CE running IPv6

Hi all Let's see if I can get an answer to this before I solve it myself :) SCENARIO: PE --> CE (Provider equipment --> Customer equipment) PE + CE routers running IPv6 and IS-IS as the IGP. PROBLEM: Lo0 is running IPv6 only on both systems (Dual-Stacking will be utilised later and that's...

IPv6 - possible issue or maybe the way it works

I now have what I wanted to achieve which is an IS-IS / IPv6 working topology. Everything working as expected.

IPv6 - possible issue or maybe the way it works

I have actually figured this issue out, from a Cisco perspective.... My problem now is with Juniper.... But I think with Juniper it is the version of code I am running as the: set security forwarding-options Is not present under security..... but Set forwarding-options is present, but then...

IPv6 - possible issue or maybe the way it works

Actually, I'm guessing that the /128 is assigning it "Link-Local" address, therefore I am obviously calculating my / incorrectly from the original assigned /29..... So, in reality, I guess I am getting a little confused as to how I can work out the /48s from an original block of /29 .... I am...

IPv6 - possible issue or maybe the way it works

Hi, Is there a reason why a /48 under a prefix of /29, when applied to an interface, automatically appears with a /128 instead of /48? Example: xxxx:xxxx:xxxx:ffff:ffff:ffff:0000:000e Is this how IPv6 works on the interfaces as each address is unique anyway? No subnets really exist as such...

Redundancy on 3850 to Cisco ASR 1001-X

Would GLBP help? If so, would need to be configured on ASRs? I don't want load balancing, simply redundancy...

Redundancy on 3850 to Cisco ASR 1001-X

Hi Question: Is there a way of performing redundancy from 1 3850 to 2 separate ASR 1001-X please? Explanation: Currently, default route set to pass voip traffic through one port on the 3850 to 1 ASR 1001-X. This means that of there is a BGP blip or a port (physical) failure, all traffic is...

    Nexus 5596

Strange problem that seems to have rectified itself but wondering if anyone has seen this before.... (answer would be great as I would like to know before installation into the live environment)....... 2 x Nexus 5596 and 4 x FEX 1 x Nexus - 1 port to FEX101 and second port to FEX101 1 x Nexus...

C2960TTL multiple Trunk ports with same VLAN

Point number 1: Why does anyone use VLAN1 for anything? All ports on an "out of the box" switch are automatically assigned to VLAN1. This is a massive security risk for any organization. Shutdown VLAN 1 and create a new VLAN for management. Okay, from the perspective of trunked ports, I see no...

Advice on Extreme Networks Summit X450E-24P Switch

This switch is a PoE switch, which is correct for what you want to achieve. I expect, with what you have mentioned here that it will require some configuration. As you don't know a huge amount regarding the networking side of things, you may need to look up some of the terminology I am about...

As an add on to this post (For future refrence to other people) I also configured multiple EAPS domains with shared-ports and tested and have now created a three EAPS domains which is completely loop free and fully redundant. Cisco Nexus 2148T Fabric Extender connectiviry issue to Juniper

It's okay. A colleague has solved this solution. According to Juniper documentation, the "Auto-Negotiation" (as per most other vendors) is enabled by default. We found that it is, in fact, not enabled by default. Once this was enabled it all worked okay.

Cisco Nexus 2148T Fabric Extender connectiviry issue to Juniper

Hi, Trying to connect the following: Nexus 2148T FEX to a Juniper QFX5100-48T running Junos: 14.1X53. It shows as the Physical Interface not coming up, even with just a basic config (i.e - Just enabling the ports on either end). To test this we connected an sfp QFX5100 to the Nexus and it...

    EAPS

Through trouble and toil :) .... I have answered my own question. The answer is that the EAPS domain name and the control vlan must be configured on each switch. I have implimented and it is all working as it should which is marvellous.

    EAPS

    Hi, I haven't used Extreme for a while now and have not had to configure EAPS before. Here is what we have: 4 x x450a switches. Let's say the switches are named A,B,C and D: A - Port 48 to port 47 on B B - Port 48 to port 47 on C C - Port 48 to port 47 on D D - Port 48 to port 47 on A This...
