Can I quickly check what version of firmware 5402 phones should be running when the system is at 4.2(23).
They show as relevant 2.0, and I'm wondering if they should be at related 5.
I tried to run turn_on.bat with the ip of the unit set in the bathroom file but it just times out and nothing...
I have only used the blue interconnect cable supplied, looked about 50cm to me though not 1m.
Unfortunately i haven't got another supply to try it with, i had a look at the IP Office power supply and whilst that's 24V its a different amperage so i'm not going to try that.
I've sent a query...
No mate, no ISDN phones.
Incidentally, what do you mean by bad wiring? The phones are connected directly to the DS16, using the same cable that works perfectly when I connect the same phone to the IP Office 406.
Damn, Same issue.
I downgraded to 5.2(999) from 6.2(23) by changing the working directory to 3.2.999, upgrading then changing the working directory to "Manager" again and upgrading again.
Still get crackle on the extensions connected to the DS16 unless i disconnect / reconnect or add another...
Thanks,
Having asked the question (probably a bit prematurely) i headed over to ipofficeinfo and found the relevant tech bulletin (80 if anyone is interested).
On page 67 it explains the procedure and im in the middle of doing the 3.2.999 part now.
Thanks
Hey all,
I have an existing perfectly working IP Office 406 V2 (4.2(23)) and a newly delivered DS16 V2.
I updated the software on the DS16 using manager 6.2(23), i think it was on 5.1(something) if i remember correctly to 6.2(23) to match the IP Office software version and now manager can...
Hey,
In the Manager Help files, under the Contents Tab, Configuration Settings -> Incoming Call Route Settings there is a pretty good example of this this function works.
Sounds like you cracked it anyway and its a network issue as has been mentioned.
Well, I did actually buy the one off eBay (3m DB9 RS232 Serial Null Modem Cable Female/Male) that i mentioned above that i have not received yet.
So when i do i will give it a shot and let you guys know if it works or not.
Many thanks folks,
I think i was led astray by the templates file which i thought would show the key mappings.
My previous experience with another system was handled in that way and i though this was similar.
Sorry for wasting your time.
Hi,
I've been trying to work out Button programming on the IP Office Manager and im having trouble trying to relate "Button No" to a physical button on phones.
I've noticed that In Manager->User->button programming your presented with the "Button No" column. However my experience when...
Haha - Mixed messages here, i hate serial cables for this reason.
Ok, hairlessupportmonkey you pointed me to a cable on Ebay which looks wrong, as its Female to Female, the DTE port on the back of the 406 V2 is female as well, so unless i get a double dildo (technical term) that aint going to...
One of these?

Hey all,
I have an IP Office 406V2 that i bought and am using for training, i didn't get a DTE cable with it though and wondered if it was just a standard 9 Pin Male to 9 Pin Female RS232 cable or something non standard?
Ta
I have a 406 V2 with R5 Software to play with.
Im going to be mucking about with it and may take it down to v4 for nothing more than training purposes.
