Separate: is your mitel directly connected to the internet?
I suppose not
Why use a SBC:

In general, you would configure a SIP trunk on the PABX for the connection to the fax server.
On that trunk you would limit the amount of channels used.
When you reach the 12 simultaneous call limit (which in my opinion is huge...), the PABX sends a busy to the caller.
On the fax server you...
Thanks JP!
can you help me with proof (some documentation)?
To be specific:
We want to upgrade mivb 8 to 9, and already upgraded the 2 MBG's to 11.3.0.49
But at the moment, we still use mivb8,
(I think) After the upgrade of the MBG's, we encounter that external incoming calls are sometimes...
That's interesting!
We do that on the 2 incoming carriers and 2 MBG's, but didn't know it could be used with the second MCD.
Do you program 50% of the phones on each system, or is it only used for routing calls?
We also have MiCC.
And strange behavior:
MiCC is programed to us MCD1 first, and...
Our provider used the same script on our MiCollab.
What wondered me, a file lookup did show several log4j 2.x files below 2.15/2.16/2.17
I used
cd /
find . -name "log4j"
In our case that didn't work when we failed over: no SIP trunk licenses available.
So only internal phones worked, but no way to call in or out via the MBG.
I was not happy we had to purchase an extra set of more than 100 lic's!
Does this calculation of option 125 help you?
https://support.adder.com/tiki/tiki-index.php?page=ALIF%3A%20Understanding%20DHCP%20Option%20125
Btw, do you have the mitel calculation tool?
It's a windows tool to do the same, if I am remembering correctly.
If you want a copy, let me know
I understand: do not use snapshots:-)
As I mentioned, I do make an automated daily backup of the ESM and a weekly of the MSL.
We also run a mivoice cluster, so the primary mivoice VM may fail.
From an architectural perspective, I am investigating what is best.
We even do have Veeam.
So my...
mivb8 and 9
MBG 10
micollab 9
all virtual on VMWARE
Besides the usual daily Mitel backups, a snapshot so now and than would be great.
I always heard that snapshots of running (Mitel) servers are not allowed.
But why?
Is it because of interrupted voice during the snapshot?
Or is it the Mitel...
Thanks Mitel_specialist and Valamagules,
I found out that I used a ARS Route to a SIP trunk in the SIP Peer profile, which had 'CPN restriction: yes'.
When I configured the ARS Route to use the other -with CPN restriction-, it worked:-)
mivoice v8
hi all,
when we dial-out, the calling party sends it's number to the called party.
When I CallForwardAll an internal number to an external number, and that internal number is dialed from external,
the called party sees anonymous.
Mitel number 1 -> call fwfd all to cellphone 2...
I suppose you won't get correct reports of the agent, but technically you could program a multiline key, with an other number.
That number has a COS wich doesn't send the number.
Kw, I suppose they have a very expensive MPLS WAN infrastructure, small sites .5 Mb, big sites 32MB; that's what we had in Europe a couple of years back with BT.
At the other hand: 16 phone: I suppose 1 or 2 are calling, so the bandwidth should be enough.
Tinos,
Do you have teleworker...
I suppose the SHDSL isnt't a leased/dedicated line.
You always could try to setup QOS.
MITEL docs suggest different settings, going from CS3 (DSCP 24) to AF41 (DSCP 34) and EF (DSCP 46)
But I suppose it couldm't harm much to set it to EF.
On the router on the remote site

If Billz66 reads this old post or others with info, that would help!
We have a lot of 5212 phones.
We do run an external DHCP server. I even can put all 5212 phones in an other vlan and direct them to an other tftp server if that helps.
(Is only option 129 used to direct the phone to the MivB?)...
thread1329-1790711
several 52xx series phones are not supported anymore in v9.
Who has up to date info what Mitel doesn't support anymore?
We have v8 and a few hundred of several 52xx models...
Is it even wise to consider to convert them to the suggested SIP?
How should I do that?
Do I have any...
