Yep,
one of my network users in the UK wants to change his password on his laptop - as he is a typical domain user here he logs on using a DOMAIN account - he has no local account - the Domain is in Germany so this week he is out of reach - and is refused accordingly.
Anything we can do...
iPod is not a normal registered component of Windows so in theory you could search thru all entries for 'ipod' and safely delete any lines you find - with luck you might be rid of those dead lines - however you might need to remove i-Tunes in case it also uses this name.
Perhaps another 'tekki'...
Hi,
I am trying to install a Jay-tech usb phone on WinXP. I have all the driver files but sadly it breaks off at the end with an error - 'inf file is for Win95 or earlier version...'. I actually believe it to be for a Win2000 version as there some references to W2k on the CD.
Anyone know how I...
Hi everybody,
one of our users has a Russian keyboard which has both Russian and English keys. We set this up so that he selects the language he wants and off he goes - RU - EN etc. However often the language will change as he is typing.
Any ideas how we can stop it changing on its own?
thx...
Well, we found the error - it is a privacy issue with a cookie which I can no longer see - somehow the symbol for a blocked cookie (a red no-entry sign) no longer appears when it finds it - I need to find this...
WinXp / SP2 - We use an Oracle function which is embedded in our Lotus Notes mailing system. When we click on the Oracle html attachment the I-Explorer opens the file from the user's temp folder - BUT this local location is an 'unknown' site for the IExplorer and it therefore does not want to...
Hi,
I found it! Those 5 computers are a particular model of Dells (Optiplex GX260/270) and their network cards seem to have an issue with the Dell switches we have - I set the speed&duplex of the NICs to be 100mb/Half-duplex and now they are fine!
Thanks anyway!
We have 80 WinXP computers on a NT4 LAN - when a user logs on then a simple script is run via a batch file to give them shares to network drives. 5 of these users (always the same ones) will logon, but the batch file is not always executed - it is simply ignored or it it is unable to run - sadly...
I have now given up on the idea of midnight synchronisation with Offlines-Files - the users are frustrated with their folders being moved back all the next day - I guess the intention behind Offline-Files is for an individual to sychronise without too much trampling his/her data on different...
Hi,
I have a large network drive (server 1) synchronized nightly with slave server 2 (both w2k) in the same network. The slave computer is not accessable to any user so nobody touches the offline data at all, and everything appears to be fine. With exception to a few files the bulk of the data...
Hi Guys,
Thanks for all your assistance - I have fixed the problem yet the cause of it is one of two things right now. 1) I replaced the burner with another one and 2) I found there was a dvd drive emulator which my son probably installed to play a DVD game - I had a new F: drive which I had...
HI,
(I have WinXP sp2)
my Nero program now fails when I try to burn DVDs. I have ruined at least 8 of them and different sorts too. It was all working 3 weeks ago and I do not even recall installing anything recently. Anyways, I re-installed all Nero software but to no avail. Today my computer...
We have both Win2K and WinXP (IE6.1). We visit a website which uses a search feature (eg. www.leo.org - an english/german translation page) and enter the search word. The Iexplorer simples closes on us without an error. To fix this we installed the latest Jave Runtime but it did not help. I do...
