Hi, i found when i use OLE to load the file into BLOB column in database, i can only retrieve it via OLE ??!
If i retrieve the OLE stored file into OS file system via DBMS or HTTP gateway, i simply can not open it, and the fiile size is bigger than its original. Same thing as if i load the data...
Dear Sem,
It works! I can insert new object into database and ,view it in form and retrieve it.
however i still have question for the existing data in a table. (the table has many PDF/DOC files in one column, the data have been loaded into 9i database by DBMS package.)
How i can view them or...
Hi, form 6i has nice feature let us load image, sound format files into database, but how form 6i can load
other blob format (say dwg CAD format) into database by
creating a trigger button?
Or we have to load them through SQL*plus? I find that DBMS package does not work in form 6i enviroment...
Finally, have time to patch it and all is done. (though i use a lot http gateway to load blob recently.) Form 6i is real easy.
Anyhow, after upgrade, it is strange the form6i's net8 assistant, and net8 easy config refuse to load. Anyone experienced the case?
Hi i have 9.0.1 database and would like to patch it from metalink patch sets.
Should i install the sequence patch sets one by one?
Or should i just install the latest one?
Is there any known issues for the patch installation?

Continue above question:
If in 9i I set PGA_aggregate_target parameter, I can remove
create_bitmap_area_size & bitmap_merge_area_size setting and save SGA memory by allocating BITMAP index memory usage into PGA?
when i set shared_pool=72M in init.ora and start the instance, it comes real shared_pool size as 88M at OEM, and i think the difference is coming from:
- shared_pool_reserved_size
- create_bitmap_area_size
- bitmap_merge_area_size
- sort_area_size (inside UGA???)
- UGA size (v$sesstat join...
show parameter large;
large_pool_size string 1048576
This is the right number setting in my init.ora, also from OEM i have the same result.
Why v$sgastat gives wrong answer? (i logon / as sysdba)
Yeh, i would like to know how oracle collects the
SGA statistics.
Dear Sybaseguru,
SQL> Show SGA;
Total System Global Area 202141568 bytes
Fixed Size 282496 bytes
Variable Size 125829120 bytes
Database Buffers 75497472 bytes
Redo Buffers 532480 bytes
I can not understand why v$sgastat has that result?
