It is possible rather than protecting a whole worksheet just to protect individual cells or groups of cells within a worksheet instead.

I am mailmerging an excel spreadsheet with a word document. The date format in excel is dd/mm/yyyy but when I merge with the word document, the date is appearing in word as mm/dd/yyyy. I have checked the regional settings and the registry. Can anyone help please?

Thanks for the tip, but this hasn't solved the problem. All entries in registry were set correctly. The date is showing correctly in Excel i.e. dd/mm/yyyy it is just when I merge with a word document that it changes to mm/dd/yyyy, any more suggestions.
