I am mailmerging an excel spreadsheet with a word document. The date format in excel is dd/mm/yyyy but when I merge with the word document, the date is appearing in word as mm/dd/yyyy. I have checked the regional settings and the registry. Can anyone help please?

Try going to Insert, Date and Time, Default and changing your date default in Word.

Carr beat me to it.

Just one addition. You may want to change the Language in the box on the right, it may not be set to English (UK).

And you may want to check the update automatically check box.

Perhaps it might be a good idea to stick to just one thread, rather than starting a new thread for the same question. It would avoid multiple answers, save band-width, hard drive real estate, etc. I would have replied to the other thread right away as soon as I logged on(if I knew the answer)

Thanks for the help once again. The reason I posted it again was because in your previous help you said if this doesn't work post it again. Sorry.

The date and time default are already set to UK and update automatically.

The date is coming from the excel package and when I merge it is still showing in an american format. Does anyone have any more ideas.

Hiya,

are u using the {MERGEFIELD } code? If so, I think it's possible to use the date formatting swith here ... add \@ "dd/MM/yyyy" to your mergefield

PLZ NOTE: dunno for sure if it'll work (can't test here!)

Cheers
Nikki
