Hi all!!!
I am a mobile user on exchange and, my emails are delivered to a Personal Folder so that I can access mails whilst away from the office.
I need Contacts, Tasks, Notes and Calendar to synchronise from Personal folder to Mailbox (Exchange). I use service provided by Good (good.com) and...
Hi all!
I would like to give access to folks on the road to the server. So far, I have managed to set it all up and successfully authenticate via PPTP over the net.
The problem: I can't seem to be able tpo see any of the network shares or access the server. I know I'm on because I can see the...
Thanks again Mark! I'm really worried about disrupting the peace we've had so far as we have many other projects on the go, is there a way that I can use the shared address book functionality only without using POP3 etc features?
Anyway, I'm installing Exchange as we speak so, I'll have a go at...
Hi all!
I would like to share an address book from SBS2003, whilst allowing users to edit this address book and use within Outlook.
Exchange 2003 came with SBS2003 however, I'm not too comfortable with Exchange as most of our users are mobile and I would like them to be able to retrieve their...
Hi all!!
Whenever a user disconnects (by taking their laptop into a meeting) him/herself from the network and return their access to the network drives is no longer however, they are still able to use the internet (SBS2003 acts as DHCP & DNS).
In order to have access to the network drives...
Also, it appears that some users have internet access whilst others don't. All users are on the same domain, this is very bizarre - any ideas would be very welcome!!!
Hi there!
Both yahoo.com and 4.2.2.1 can be pinged successfuly.
All users can ping and access internet then, with no pattern, it drops for as long as 180 seconds or as short as 42 seconds and then they have access again. It's dropped 12 times today, in the past 9 hours.
Hi all!
I've got Server 2003 and two ethernet switches (the ethernet switches connect 8 client computers) sitting behind a router.
Users have been complaining that the internet connection drops i.e. internet radio stops working, can't access the web etc. this stops for about 1 minute then all...
I'm just not having much fun with Folder Redirection at this point and, anything other than Folder Redirection would be my preference!! It has caused my so many problems to date:
- Files disappear on the local My Documents
- Outlook profile changes, possibly due to the .pst file not being...
Hi all!
I have been having some problems with Folder Redirection and Offline Files (primarily, files disappear from the local My Documents whilst still on the Server's User Shared Folders). I've used this feature as a means to backup users data and, I would like to look into other solutions...
Remote Desktop is what I use currently and that's why I always find myself having to ask them for their password so I can change things like Outlook settings.. . maybe I should just use Remote Assistance then (is that what you mean by 'Remote-control')?
While I'm on, do you know if it is...
Thanks! I suppose my greeness with all of this shows.. . So, if I log on to the user's machine with Domain Admin will the changes be reflected when the user logs in next time round?
For instance someone had a problem with Outlook i.e. they were working offline, would I have been able to log-in...
Yep, it's, from what I can understand a combination of Folder Redirection and Offline files, check out my earlier post and, reply:

Hope this helps

Thanks tfg13, I had a good read and I must say I'm rather confused, in some MS Technet/Support articles it says that Folder Redirection automatically has 'Offline Files' configured and others that you have to do it.. . so, I've done it via the GPO, I'll be testing it tomorrow, fingers crossed...
Hi all!!
Everytime I want to access a user's machine (Domain User) I find myself having to ask them for their password, does SBS2003 store their passwords somewhere?
I have set the password lifecycle to 33 days, if I have to sk them every month this is going to be a bit bizarre!! :D
Thanks...
Hi all!
I'm really having some problems with this Folder Redirection stuff!! All files are stored on the server which means that laptop users on the move can't access their files on the road, arghhhh!!!
I have a GPO entitled 'Small Business Server Folder Redirection', in this GPO under 'User...
Thanks tfg13, I get the following Event IDs; 540 (53'000 times), 538 (53'000 times) and 576 (51'000 times). All of this in the space of 36 hours for only 6 users!! Many thanks for any help?
Hi there!
My SBS 2003 (with 6 users on domain) has produced some 700 or so Security Event logs in the space of 20 minutes - there were a 130'000 over the space of two weeks before I cleared. I'm a bit concerned, should I be, is this normal?
Many thanks,
Philippe
