Hi all!

I'm really having some problems with this Folder Redirection stuff!! All files are stored on the server which means that laptop users on the move can't access their files on the road, arghhhh!!!

I have a GPO entitled 'Small Business Server Folder Redirection', in this GPO under 'User Configuration', I have 'Redirect Everyone's folder to the Same location' set to Path on the server, the same path for Application Data and My Documents.

For both Application Data and My Documents, the following options have been set:

Grant user exclusive rights to Application Data: Disabled
Move the contents of Application Data to the new location: Disabled

On the local machine in the My Documents, a little blue recycle icon appears on all the folders. Clicking on any of these folders will lead to the Server i.e. files are not stored locally, how can Make sure that they are??

Any help would be muchly appreciated!!!

Many thanks,

Phil

You will want to implement Offline folders instead of folder redirection.

Thanks tfg13, I had a good read and I must say I'm rather confused, in some MS Technet/Support articles it says that Folder Redirection automatically has 'Offline Files' configured and others that you have to do it.. . so, I've done it via the GPO, I'll be testing it tomorrow, fingers crossed!!

Cheers!!

Phil

You can do both.

mlichstein,
I am don't want to imply that I'm saying he can not do both, I am just stating that the direction the post indicates is he wants offline folders, not folder redirection.

teknovision,
We are talking about Microsoft products. You should know by now that they are the masters of double talk....
