    Poll: One-X Portal - Love / Hate / Indifferent?

I'm only just catching up with v5, but the biggest problem I have with 1XP is that it requires a very expensive bundle licence to use it. We have a lot of customers running terminal services/citrix and thought this was the answer to our prayers. We've just specced up a system for a 200 user...

    Apple IPhone and IPOffice

There's an app called Fring which supports SIP. The problem with any such app on the iphone is that it can't run in the background and therefore is useless for incoming calls. Oh, and they are locked down to only using wifi as well, not 3G.

    New Microsoft Cert FAQs

Is it just me or does that make no sense? If someone who scores 400 is not necessarily worse than someone who scores say 650 - what's the point of a score at all? How exactly are they calculated - a random number generator?? It certainly seems like it. Only Microsoft could make something so...

    Preparation for 70-291

I took this today. After studying from an old Sybex book and reviewing 'practise questions' from the usual sources I felt reasonably prepared. When I started the exam I felt it wasn't going too well. The questions had a bit of a different focus than the ones I had used to prepare. They were...

    4500 vs 5500

Is there much difference between these two product families? We use the 4500's for our VOIP installs and I think we've had a couple of 5500's. Is there any real difference?

    TAPI3 driver available?

Is there a TAPI3 driver commonly available? The one on the user CD appears to be TAPI2 only. We have one here but no one knows where it came from and it isn't Vista compliant from what I'm told. Cheers!

New SBS domain, same name as the old one!

All 9 users already recreated, no special share permissions (all users have full access!), Printers already backed up and restored using printmig :-) Really appreciate the input though, we can always bail if it goes badly wrong.

New SBS domain, same name as the old one!

58sniper, Thanks for the information I had not considered the exchange legacy DN problem but I've had it before when exchange servers have not been correctly reinstalled after a disaster. Can you think of any more likely issues? I'm trying to present a case to management to get the install...

New SBS domain, same name as the old one!

Yep, I must have follwed that guide 5 or 6 times before for other clients and it's definitely the way to do it given the choice. Thanks for the link to the patch, I wasn't aware of that but to be honest 7 days is usually enough. I'm going to speak to management about it as the email problem...

New SBS domain, same name as the old one!

rejoining 10 PC's to the domain isn't really a problem and is a lot simpler than rebuilding a server and reinstalling all the custom database software etc. usually I would agree but I think in this case it genuinely is going to be easier to carry on as we are.

New SBS domain, same name as the old one!

Victor, yes I do this quite often and that is what I would normally do. but as i say we don't have any time to spare for this one.

New SBS domain, same name as the old one!

I'd much prefer to build it in to the existing domain as this is what I usually do. However we just don't have the time to rebuild the server. We're just going to have to drag the data off the old one any way we can and then kill it off. Then add the PC's to the 'new' domain, migrate...

New SBS domain, same name as the old one!

...from one to the other and copy data? My head says no.... There's only a handful of PC's so rejoining them isn't too much of a problem, although if both servers are running I'm not sure how we'll know which domain they've joined!! I suppose whichever they're looking to for DNS. Are we F**cked!?

Forward on no answer, then back to voicemail

All done now. My config is now a thing of beauty :-)

Forward on no answer, then back to voicemail

tested and confirmed :-) TomMills - the original called party is a user rather than a group. I know if you overflow to a 2nd hunt group it's the 1st group's VM that kicks in, but didn't think it would be the same for users with forwarding on - doh! Now all I have to do is go through about 50...

Forward on no answer, then back to voicemail

Thanks TheTaker, I'll test this now. My reasoning for turning VM off on the HG was that I don't want it to go to the HG's own VM. I'll test now but it sounds like that's the problem!

Forward on no answer, then back to voicemail

I just watched a call come in via call status. It rings at the main extension for 15 seconds before forwarding on no answer to a sequential hunt group with two members. It then rings them for 10 seconds each as per the no answer time I've set. It flicks between these two handsets seemingly...

Forward on no answer, then back to voicemail

Hi, It's 4.2 as well. I'll double check as it was only a hasty check. It's a sequential group and from what I saw it just sat on the last person instead of going to VM. Maybe it is working, I'll double check the times etc. The VM Pro start point had crossed my mind as an option so I'll go with...

Forward on no answer, then back to voicemail

Hmm, from some quick testing, this doesn't seem to work. Can anyone else confirm if it should?

Wahoo!! That's saved me a lot of work! Thanks for that.
