Help. I have cubes that I have published in the past that still work and update daily without issue. I logged on the with same root user name as before. However, for some reason, I now cannot seem to publish anything new or existing. "Object does not have write access". We are using v 7.3...
Question: I've been given pages of names and addresses that were either typed or scanned into a Word Document. They are set up as lables like such:
Person's Name
Institution
Address
City, St Zip
Phone
Fax

and so on.
They are looking to...
Thanks for all of your valuable posts. However, in our case, there will be multiple users. Our programmer did not take the ReportNet course, so perhaps this is where our miscommunication comes into play. Please continue posting if you'd like. This is a great learning experience for me.
Ok, so this fellow is still saying that it should be done in the report. He says the sample data I am looking at of Revenue and Sales Target are actually calculated columns in ReportNet not Framework manager. Any suggestions on how I can convince him to break this out? Does anyone know of any...
Thanks for your posts. I was looking for an opinion, and it seems you agree. He sort of refuses to do it in FM and says that I (or the user) can just do it with a query in the ReportNet report itself. I am of the opinion that if it is not intuitive for me, it will not be intuitive to other...
So, we are just getting started with ReporNet. The data warehouse guy has plugged in all of our data using Framework Manager. It is now up to me to design the reports. Here's the issue I am having. I need to do a simple financial report. Budget vs. Actual. Problem is, all of these transactions...
I guess I see what you are saying... the drill down are catalog numbers rolled up to form the product code, and we did not forecast down the the catalog number level. When I show scope on the data source, all levels that match my data source are showing the standard yellow (as if to say "yep...
Sorry.. it was Numbers on the top where the cell letter references should be. And numbers along the side as well.
Insted of cell A:1 it was 1:1 and so on. Weird eh?
I think the workbook was corrupted. I just made a new one for him and I think it's okay now. But, if you have ever heard of this...
So, someone just came to me and said that they have some documents that are being shared in Excel. Sometimes folks will open them and the letters Cell reference letters (A, B, C) will be on the top and the numbers (1,2,3) will be on the bottom... I think they are all using different versions...
It's so frustrating that formatted .ppr reports loose their formats when placed in Excel. Anyone out there ever just tried to create a blank dimension for formatting? Instead of inserting a blank, just insert your blank dimension or level and rename. If you have and it worked, please let me...
So, in Transformer 7.3 I have my products organized like this:
Products Dimension:
Product Line
Product Group
Product Code
Item - Name
AltPath - Product Code
Item
AltPath - Item
Within this dimesion I have 2 Alternate Drill Down paths, 1 for Product...
Hmmm... gotta say, haven't really started using macros yet. i'll investigate that procedure. it seems very basic, all i need to do is save a report designed in client (reporter mode) as a 1 page pdf file and then publish it to the web. or a ppx that's viewed as a pdf once it's been published...
Well, we do not have Upfront activated. However, I did do this in the report settings under on PowerPlay Admistraion Server. The report opens in PDF, however, it still looks the same as if I had saved it as a PDF. It doesn't show the entire report... only what's visible on the PPClient screen...
To give more information about my situation: I am mixing date dimensions, Daily, Monthly, Quarterly, Yearly Grouped in one report. PP Client "Explorer" mode just doesn't seem to allow that. "Reporter" mode will allow it, but when the report is saved as a ppx and published, it ends up displaying...
Thanks for the response. However, the reports I am publishing are too complex to be viewed with the Web cube. For instance, the reports you can design for the web, are basically "Explorer" type reports. To get the results we are looking for, most of our reports have to be designed in...
So, we went to PowerPlay Web. As it turns out, most of the reports I do are far too complicated for PowerPlay Web. So, I'm back to client. Issue: Now that we have web, we want to publish these reports. I guess that I am stuck with saving reports as .pdf files and publishing. However, how do I...
Hey, So I just tried it with Firefox and a two button mouse, and she has all of the right click functionality! Pretty cool. However, the two button trick does not work with Safari or IE. I think the TwoButtonFirefox Combo should work for now. I certainly know who to come to for Mac questions...
Ok, well one user did the Firefox thing and she was able to open the cubes (she was giddy with excitement)... however, she could not drag and drop ("i can't grab anything")as you stated above. She says she's not doing anything with 'emulation' so she will investigate. I know NOTHING about Macs...
