So, in Transformer 7.3 I have my products organized like this:

Products Dimension:
Product Line
Product Group
Product Code
Item - Name
AltPath - Product Code
Item
AltPath - Item

Within this dimesion I have 2 Alternate Drill Down paths, 1 for Product Code and 1 for Item, so that folks can skip right past the Product Line and Group and get right to the code or just straight to an item.
Here's the question:
I have an excel Budget sheet where the lowest level is the Product Code and rolls up to their respective Groups and Lines. It works fine as always, but I've just noticed that the Product Code in the Alternate Drill down path will not read from the budget sheet? When I show the scope for that Data Source, both the Main Product Code and the Alternate path Product Code are highlighted solid yellow, as if transformer is seeing the connection, but if I bring items from that alternate path into a report, the Budget number is 0. Why is that?

Thanks!

When you show scope on this data source what colour is Item? If it is red then I think you may need to add this level into your spreadsheet. I believe PowerPlay only takes the numbers (budget in your case) at the lowest and rolls them up the different levels of a dimension. Therefore the numbers for Product Code upwards do not actually exist, they are made up by summarising the categories below.

Hope this helps.

I guess I see what you are saying... the drill down are catalog numbers rolled up to form the product code, and we did not forecast down the the catalog number level. When I show scope on the data source, all levels that match my data source are showing the standard yellow (as if to say "yep, there's a connection", even the alt drill down. However, when I show the scope on the measure, none of the alt drill downs show allocation. Should have created a "Special Category" instead of an alternate drill down path? Oh well... thanks for the response.
