Definately have a verified good backup before doing the in place upgrade. I would personally create an image, then perform all updates, create another image, then do in place upgrade. Ofcourse I do prefer a clean install whenever it is possible.
What kind of Video Card do they have installed? If the for example you have a motherboard with the intergrated Intel Extreme Graphics, you can click on the monitor icon in the systray and rotate the monitor. I am sure others have the same function.
CaNiBuS,
Sounds cool, can you send me a copy to look at. I was planning on doing something like this myself so if I can see how you did it, it would be a great help. My plans are to fill a mySQL database and then have a few php pages to display/filter the data.
Please send to asbestoast at...
I have a similar problem. When I run command 'test board XXXXX' test 140 fails. When it testing each port it says abort. Has my DS1(tn722b) card crapped out? or is there something else to check?
Thanks for any replies!!
I have played with the registry "hack" you are talking about with some success. But you will have to first create a locked down user account on all of the local machines with no password. Then change the registry keys to login with this account instead of the admin.
I had the exact problem as you on Windows XP workstation and a HP 4PLUS printer. My workaround was IP printing with the HP driver (the Microsoft built-in driver pushed a blank page with each print job).
I know the "in-place upgrade" path exists however I feel the server and services will perform better if I do fresh install of Netware & Groupwise.
"Easier and faster" does not mean better!
I am going to try out my plan on a test server and see what happens. I will let you...
Hello, I currently have a Groupwise 6sp2 system running on Netware 6sp2. I plan to perform some server upgrades (i.e. add processors & memory ). I would also like to upgrade to Groupwise 6.5.
What I would like to do is backup NDS and all of the user's mail, perform upgrades, perform fresh...
I have had this problem before if there was a power outage and the Audix went down ( really need to get a better UPS, like one that works ). Anyways if I would then manually stop the VM system and reboot the message lights would work fine.
Hello all,
I plan on building a new GroupWise 6.5 server soon and would like to migrate all of the user's email & calenders from the current Groupwise 6.0.2 server. Does anyone have any suggestions on how best to do this?
Thanks!!!
I have had similar problems with both a Firebox 1000 and a Firebox II. I have talked with Watchguard about this on many occasions and they say this is that this is the first they have heard of such a problem (hmm sounds kind of familiar).
Perhaps the configuration file on the firebox is getting...
Did anyone have any problems with the actually changing the IP address on the Groupwise server. I have read a TID specific to Netware 6 and I was really wondering if there was anything else involved because of Groupwise.
The only IP addresses I need to change are my router, firewall and this...
I am going to be forced to change the IP address on my Groupwise server (changing Internet Provider). It is currently running Netware 6.0 sp2 and Groupwise 6.0 sp2. The POA and MTA are both running off of this server. I have a TID with how to make changes for Netware 6.0 just wondering about any...

Thanks, I should have stated that this is on a Novell Network without any Windows Servers. I knew I could use domain level policies if these machines were authenticating to a Windows 2000 or .net server.
I have set up local policies on one Win XP Pro machine and would like to have these same policies on all XP Pro machines.
Does anyone know how to export/import local policies on a Win XP Pro machine?
Thanks!
If anyone is still looking for this solution let me know.
I have found a soultion a mixture of reg hacks from Novell and Microsoft that works perfectly.
