I can't get this D-channel up. I have a point to point T1 set up as PRI. I tried to put a loop back directly onto the T1 cable coming out the back of the Definity, and it won't come up. My trunk group is set to ISDN with all the members entered, my signal groups there, the DS1 card is set to ISDN.

(I have the Definity amphenol to DB9 connector T1 cable. I have the Adtran CSU/DSU adapter that brings it to RJ45. I put the loop back in there.)

Thanks,

I would have soemone at the CO work with me to verify the circuit is good. Put the loopback at the smartjack. Have them look at their end for the loop and errors. You might have them do a tech dispatch to make sure.

1. First try use command test board xxxxx (where the ds1 located). if test result is 138,139 fail that is cable fault
2. check the pri protocol is correct set to connect the far side equipment.

Which end is providing the timing? Do you correctly have 1 end set for "network" and 1 for "line-side"? You cannot set both ends as "network" or they won't be able to synch up.

It is a point to point and the circuit is up. Data is flowing fine. I've tried multiple cables. THe error codes I'm getting are 4, 1113, 1116 on the B Channels but the D-Channel is a pass but yet it's out of service.

The Definity is providing the Timing. The connect is set to PBX and the interface is set to Network. The other side is a Merlin Magix set to Merlin Network. Do I need to do anything else for Timing??

The customers flipping and I can't get this working! I don't know what to do anymore. I'm desperate.

Thanks,

One more thins. They only had 6 more ports/Right to Use available before this T1 board. So I can only assign the last 6 ports as members. Which is no big deal because we're only using 6 channels on the point to point for voice.

Will this have anything to do with it??

THanks,
KILLBOX

You do not have the Definity providing any timing if you have the connect set to network. Change it to user or line-side.

Connect": is set to PBX and "Interface": is set to Network.

I've tried that and the D-Channel still doesn't come up.

Thanks,

I've never worked with Merlin but does it support ISDN? Does the T1 circuit card for the Merlin only support robbed bit (i.e. E&M) signaling?

I have a similar problem. When I run command 'test board XXXXX' test 140 fails. When it testing each port it says abort. Has my DS1(tn722b) card crapped out? or is there something else to check?
Thanks for any replies!!

You have stated that younonly have 6 RTU on the Merl;in, make sure you have only added 6 channels on the trunk at the definity end
