This has me really confused over what I thought was a simple solution to my problem of connecting to my office workstation.
My Query first then description of systems
I need to connect my home computer to my office workstation and cannot figure out which ip address to use, and what else I may...
linney,
Yes have tried most of what you suggested. I think I did the Intel drivers right. Pretty sure I got all of the ME drivers either downloaded or from the OEM CD,s on my other machines. Luckily I do have an extra machine and have been using that until deciding what to do . YES XP Pro is...

The application did not stop the intermittant hang ups but I installed it on my other workstations and it did help things a lot, particularly with the WinMe machines.
Thanks again The Dekeman
rwise2112,
Thanks for your suggestions. I am still not sure what went wrong with the VMM32 file but ended up doing a full re-install. Consoled by the fact that it was about time to do a clean-up anyway, just not at this particular time.
I also saw the article you referred to about rebuilding...

but been there done that
in fact I unchecked everything under Windows Set-Up no luck
Have read somewhere that the vmm32.vxd is a very big library file and cannot be restored from system restore or anything like that

If using XP Pro then...

I am currently using the Microsoft SBS and using the NT4.5 version. 10 workstations vary as to operating system from Win98 to WinME . Talked to formerly enthusiastic Unix user who has switched to a Peer-toPeer system using all Win98 pc's and a cisco router.
Has anyone out there done the same...
I recently had a discussion with a former Unix user who had fine tuned his network and developed industry specific applications. He was really into the entire system.
NOW A YEAR LATER
He has dropped the Unix altogether and is using windows98 and a peer-to-peer system with a cisco router. He is...
