    file gets bigger?

The most puzzling thing to me was that the file got bigger when I just opened an .ai file and saved it as an .ai file with a different name. I did discover that the culprit seemed to be a logo that I had as a separate .eps file that was under a meg. I found that if I opened a new file and...

    file gets bigger?

I'm still on Illustrator CS and I am trying to edit an .ai file that I generated a couple of years ago. The original file was about 500K but after a few minor changes, when I saved it it was 6.8M! After messing around for a while, I opened another older file that was about 500K and just saved...

    Wingdings/Webdings etc.

When I mentioned this solution to my wife, even more of a novice than I am, she pointed out that if you use Insert->Symbol, there is a font drop down menu where you can pick a font, including Wingdings or Webdings, and insert symbols directly. It was there all along and I just couldn't see it.

    Wingdings/Webdings etc.

    Wingdings/Webdings etc.

Is there a good way in MS Office, ie. Word, to see symbol fonts like Webdings and the various Wingdings so you can insert characters from the font set into a document? I haven't found a simple way to do it and was wondering if I'm missing something. I know you can get some of the symbols using...

Fitting a table in a frame with rounded corners

Not exactly. What I would like is to have the table centered at the top of the frame, the top or header cell filled with a screen, and the fill following the rounded corner of the frame. What I get is a rectangular fill pattern with square corners that either goes outside the rounded corner or...

Pattern fill inside shape/text? Is this possible?

Have you tried Step and Repeat? If you take your basic pattern and use S&R to repeat it horizontally and vertically, you might then be able to use that pattern to fill your shape.

Fitting a table in a frame with rounded corners

I am trying to put a table in a rectangular text frame with rounded corners. When I fill in the header cell, the table boundary does not match the frame boundary so the fill color does not have the rounded corners that I am trying to get. Is there a way to do this?
