thanks for the reply - reading your response, I can imply that there is no integration between the Avaya PBX and modular messaging where the person can actually answer the call, realize the call is an incoming fax, then just hang up and expect the fax to magically continue into their voicemail...
integration is QSIG - the question is - for an inbound fax, if the caller answers the phone and hears the fax... can they just hang up the call to get the DTMF tone they are hearing connected back into the system, or do they need to do some sort of manual transfer into their mailbox? right now...
By now everyone has seen the problem of 1 way, no way audio - typically my experience has been to prove the route (and/or ports) for the RTP stream thru the network from phone to phone.
But I always get offhook dialtone, despite the fact that I have no audio stream from a medpro or voip...
I've got a uniform dialplan table with L4 in some of the entries - I'm pretty good with the routing, (ARS, AAR, UDP,etc) I just need a doc that details that chain of logic with this entry - just haven't run across it yet (cant find it in the admin guide)
kind regards,

instead of using 0, try 1 instead ...the system might consider "0" as "none"
"If you set this to none, there is no switchback to the primary port when it recovers."
also - do a "show port 10/5" and find out what the speed/duplex settings are...
the probability is that there is a better way to do this but just off the cuff, I can think of one...
...and assuming it's an ISDN trunk - "change incoming trunk 10" or if this switch is an earlier version, you can change trunk 10 and go to page 5 or 6, whereever the incoming call handling...
ouch - I just realized you are uplinking to 2 cisco's ... disregard... (your configuration is like the one on page 33 of avaya doc 03-602055)?
after reading the 450 admin guide, it looks as though port redundancy is a seperate feature from spanning tree redundancy -
so you did the following...
not sure disabling spanning tree would be the way I'd go - first I'd make sure what flavor of spanning tree your running... PVST+ is the default mode for catalyst cisco - so first of all...are you running seperate vlans on your cisco device? if so, what is the root bridge for the instance of...
in the 46xx settings file the following line...
SET LOGOS FIFAWorldCup=../fifa_logo.jpg
1 I uncommented the line by taking out the ##
2 I put a "fifa.jpg" pic from a world cup event in 2004 when we beat mexico's butt in final round action - in the same directory as the settings file

I got this too, but it was because I was using a password that was not complex enough so I used a password that was 10 digits in length with caps, lower case, and a few numbers sprinkled in... (I'm already guessing though that you may have tried this? ) - this was my first 5.2 install, but...
Is there a way to set up a quick connect in Modular Messaging like you can in Intuity? scenario: person A calls person B, person B would like to transfer person A straight into person C's voicemail without ringing the extension or going thru a series of additional prompts - the result would...
using the Intuity TUI, when you dial the hunt pilot from outside the system (a 10 digit public call into the MM hunt pilot) and hit the MM, you get the default "welcom to avaya messaging", where I can then hit # and it will prompt for the extension and password
Is it possible to create...
thanks...yes telnet is enabled under "server access" and I used the sudo ftpserv command to turn on ftp and I can then ftp to my .5 address on the services port - I can then observe the GUILD ftp program running and it shows the connection active but in an idle state - I suppose at this point if...
