Recently, we migrate the VM service form Nortel Call Pilot to another VM (Don't ask me why...)
Most people feels comfortable with the new one, while some one meet quite wired issue with MWI.

For example, DN 3000 is a M2616 phone set, the original configuration for the phone is :
FDN 8000
Hunt 8000
key 8 mwk 8000

8000 is the call pilot CDN

After the VM migration, we replace the 8000 with the new VM's pilot number 7000
FDN 7000
Hunt 7000
Key 8 mwk 7000

After that, all VM service should move to the the new system. But several user still can get NEW message left in their old VM box and turn on the MWI lamp...

Quite wired, I don't know the reason...
Can anyone help me out? Thanks a lot!

have not powered down CP? Can be a lot of routing going on besides FDN & hunt on the set level......

Hi,
Can you describe an example about the "Routing" which will also cause my issue?
Thanks,

Yes, "Express messaging" is one of the reason, do you know more? Thanks,

CP is still in up.

I'm not sure what will happen if I simply delete the VM box in CP?

There are lots of ACDN in the pbx system, both of with the "NCFW" set to call pilot 8000.

How do I know these ACDNs are used for?

How many VM boxes on CP do you have? Have you gone thru them? Verified HUNT/FDN on all sets?
Checked SDN flow?
on any mailbox - you can answer DN & MWI up to 8 sets.
I've had users claim they light up for no reason, but was a fax mailbox and also several were checked to light up on other mailboxes.....

Jeff,
Voice messaging is like a back door to a mail box that allows you to leave a message without ringing the phone.
Typicaly your express message access number is close to the
your VM access number. Mine for example is 4051 and VM is 4050. You could PRT all of your ACD's in LD 23 and compare. All numbers used for your old VM system should be removed from the PBX side after the the old is is turned off.

I think your talking over his head, I think he need's a Vendor.

1) There are about 400 VM users in the CP. Recently, I encountered 3 users claims they meet this problem. Even today, one of these user said he got a new message in his old VM box which was left 12:30 pm by an outside client.

2) I did not go through the VM setting one by one, but basically each box answers one DN.

For some reason, I'm not authorized to turn off the CP. I know Express Messaging is one of the reason causes the issue, but it's not the all. Some message left in the old VM box was sent by outside user.

Let's make it simple, all users have DID number. Is there any setting may cause the result that when the user doesn't pick up the phone and the caller hit the old VM box, since FDN and HUNT already pointed to the new VM?

Could any of the user have their set physicaly forwarded to the old VM number?

Here is the phone configuration

Description:
8000 is the old VM system pilot number, 7000 is the new VM
The migration is in process, so we just finish part of the users.
For extension 2, we create a new vm box meanwhile remain his old vm box.

Question:
When some one call 3552, both of the 1 and 2 will ring at the same time, if both of them do not pick up the phone, which vm will caller hit? the 8000 or the 7000?

I think that may cause the issue...

Post the entire TNB not just peices of it, there maybe something else causing this and your not giving us all the info we need to make a intellengent guess.

If your old Call-pilot server still up, u will get unread msg light on those phones until the users clear them out.
Or go into Callpilot and take out those mailbox MWI #.

Um, above post has 8000 and on the original post you show 8000 being Callpilot....
