Ever since I reconfigured my Zone alarm program control tab I am unable to access anything requiring a password ie...This site, hotmail, yahoo mail etc. I got rid of all X's and it's still the same. Appreciatd in advance...

Try the default settings. Are you running XP with SP2 ?

Thanks Rick, and yeah, I did hit the default to no effect. I don't have SP2 either. ...Cheers...Ken Sherman

If you disable Zone Alarm are you successful in navigating to password protected sites ? If so,I would select the lowest setting on each tab on Zone Alarm and go fron there.
I switched from the free Zone Alarm to CA's version of Zone Alarm. Having similar problems.

Yep, you got it Rick. If I disable ZA, things are fine. Not protected, but things are fine. I'll try putting the setting on super low an see if that makes a dif...Thanks...Ken

Fixed It! Rick, Check this out. I went back in ZA to Firewall to Main tab to Trusted Zone Security. Moved the switch to the low position (it'll say: "Caution. Fire Wall is Off." Went to yahoo mail using my password. While inside my email, I reset the switch to medium under Trusted Zone Security. While leaving the ZA settings on medium, I left yahoo email and went to my other email site (hotmail). Got in with no problem. Then went to this site, used my password and no problem.
So it seems that what ZA needed was a good kick in the side, a sort of wake up call if you please. This sort of thing happens occasionally with other software, just needs a reminder that it suppose to do what it's suppose to do. I don't fully get it but it works...Ken

Good idea,I will try that myself.
