I hope no one takes this as a solicitation because it's really not intended that way...

I was wondering if I could get some of your comments on my website: Jaymunda.com

What I'm looking for is thoughts on:
• Creativity
• Usability & Ease of navigation
• Overall Appeal
• Etc.

Please be honest (but not mean [thumbsup2]).

Thanks,
J

I think its easy to use. I think it looks good. I would think about adding a placeholder on your left navigation bar. For example, if you go to CNN.com, you will see that anytime you click something on their left nav bar--its highlighted in red to tell you that you are in that section.

1. It takes way too long to load the homepage over a modem connection (at least 30 seconds). Suggestion: Get rid of the flash, replace it with an animated GIF if you must. This would speed it up considerably.
2. Not all images have ALT tags.

These are just my first thoughts. For a more technical opinion, you may want to ask in the Website designers forum on TT.

You might want to run your pages past Bobby:

This tools checks your pages for compliance with section 508 and the W3C's accessibility guidelines so that people with disabilities can use your site (for example, blind people who are using text-to-speech tools).

These are great! Thanks! Keep 'em comin...

Don't take this the wrong way, but $10,000 seems to be a lot of money for an even largish website. In the UK, and normal website developer wages, that could buy even 6 months worth of permanent development ...

I like the general feel of the site, but do watch your spelling - on the home page, acheive should be achieve, for example. A small thing, but one which turns many people off if viewing for the first time. Good luck!

sedj-

pricing is such a hard thing to do. All the prices i worked out are based on cheap hourly wages- $40/hr. and then I gave a 15% discount on top of that. They might be a little high to publicise, but $10,000 for a full flash site is cheap, and I can't really take in much less than that.

Any suggestions on a better way to present the info, maybe?

MDLU,

Several month ago someone here asked people's opinions on a website; it was all hard-on-your-eyes-red. I think, it was you, right?

Now, I don't have time to click on each link, check spelling, and look into many other details, but the general look, feel, and appeal of the site is great. It seems so much more elegant now.

that was me with the red site. Thanks- i'm glad it looks and works better now.

About Us" and "Contact us" generated a 'Runtime error' for me. Might be my java settings, but you should double check.

The main nav bar should be a classic color change on mouse over. The moving [] takes your attention away from the page.

As said in a previous post the nav bar should indicate your positioning on the site (stay away from breadcrumbs if possible).

And finally if you are investing time and money into a business invest some money into an editor. You should have a professional check your site for proper grammar, spelling and over all structure.

Good luck keep us posted with updates

jrbarnett Is there a web design forum ?? (Can't see one, but might also be having a "dumb-day"

Alexhu Many Thanks .... now off to the optician for me :)

<Do I need A Signature or will an X do?>

Looks great!! However I would change the "Quality and Consistency" to the same color as the rest of the paragraph (as I assumed it was a link.)

Also, I would provide links on each of your bullet points on the homepage. It seems just standard that bullets points provide links to tell you further about that topic, but it's just standard text. Either that or take them out completely unless it's a link.

Also, you're email address link returned a page not found webpage.

And not necessary, but I would make your logo a link back to your homepage.

Thanks! your comment on the bullets is exactly what I was thinking. i'm going to be adding those pages soon...

One quick comment. On the left nav menu under Pricing you have Design Pricing and Web Pricing. For some people this may be confusing. As the words web design are usually used. Since in Design Pricing you have the prices for printed materials you may want to consider changing it to Print Pricing or Corporate Identity or something.

Nice site though. :)
