xp will not load

I running winxp on my computer but it will not start just runs first win xp page but then goes to default page and gives me restarting option but it sticks on restart windows normally will not let me use keyboard to change choice cannot do clean install as keyboard will not function have tried a couple of keyboards

Are these USB Keyboards that are failing? Have you tried non-USB Keyboards?

Is the Keyboard able to get access to the Bios, where you could try setting the Safe Defaults, and also check the USB settings there? Can you start it in Safe Mode yourself by pressing F8 at bootup, rather than Windows crashing into Safe Mode?

Have tried two non usb keyboards -my usb keyboard will get me into bios have tried safe defaults Ican get into safe mode via f8 but will not let me make any choice with keyboard

To this layperson it is beginning to sound expensive, maybe a fault inside the box itself?

If you boot to 9x floppy do you have any Keyboard at the "A" prompt?

Have tried win98 boot disk with both keyboards but neither will work at command prompt
