Wrong ext and name on phone how to fix this??

User was having problems with her phone (model 7310) she unplugged phone and tried to plug in a different phone in same line then display showed a different ext and name tried to plug old phone back in but phone is still showing the wrong name and ext. when you call her ext it says its not in service. please help this is our HR person???

i went into the admin and set relocation feature to "y" unplugged the phone and plugged it back in then changed relocation back to "N" still wrong name and ext...

There is not much to advise on changing a cross-connect. Either you have the proper tools and know-how, or you need to call your vendor.

was this done before the move or after,

start over.place the phone back to were it was. Feature * 0
hit the int> whats your dn. Is that the right one.right name
if so then i would have turn on set relotion then move the phone and wait till it comes up and if it is wright,then go back in and take set relocation off ... I never use that because your records are all of after they move a round a lot..some like it i dont,i like going out to the cust...

did it after she unplugged the phone. they always let you know after the fact. it wasnt until she had plugged the original phone back in that i tried to do the set relocation feature to try to fix the issue. but it didnt work. I am not a phone admin this is all knew to me but i am the one they told to fix it

just a note... the phone never moved locations. same phone jack same desk she just swapped the hardware. now the original hardware (phone itself) is plugged back in.

why dont you just go into sys prog & swap the extn numbers this will retrieve your old number from wherever its disapered to & save any need with messing about with cabling

I am new to programming the phone. Once i log into the sys admin phone and go to terminals and sets how do i swap the ext #'S?

Name will stay with port........Bad way to change DNs, you will have possible problems in future using this process.

i know it does nothing for documentation but set reloc is just as bad, but what is done is done.

goto sys prog -press SHOW
press NEXT til you see swap extns- prss SHOW type in old DN then NEW DN hey presto they're swapped.

forgot to add from terminals & sets press next til you see sys prog, i'm asuming you have a programming template or know which is next & show, however you should find your way with a little trial & error

that worked her phone is now back to her regular ext. only problem now when you call her vm doesnt pick up. i will try to reset her vm and see if that works.

Thanks again everyone for all the help. Forums like this really make a difference when you get thrown into something you have absolutely no training on and they have lost all documenation and will not purchase a new manual.
