This is a workaround for a VFP 8 minor bug. If you use Form Designer to add control to a column which is locked by LockColumns, the added control will be added to the 1st column which is not locked.

To workaround this, you can either set the LockColumns after all controls have been added to the locked columns or use Toolbox to do this.

Just curious - has the VFP team been notified of this problem? Are you passing this work around on from another source?

Hi rgbean,

I find this minor problem and I workaround this by setting the LockColumns after all the controls are added. I have notified VFP team of this issue. They provide me the Toolbar workaround.

I'm currently working on a project to upgrade a VFP 6 application to VFP 8. I have experienced issues which I have classified in the following 4 categories:

1. VFP 8 specific
2. VFP in general
3. Behavior changes due to VFP fixes
4. Coding problem in the application

At the end of the project, I plan to inform VFP team the categories 1, 2, and 3 so Europa won't have those issues.

Although this is a minor problem, it may not be easy to notice the cause (LockColumns).

I hope this is helpful to others in this forum since I have gotten many excellent helps from this forum so I believe it is important to share any information.:)
