Word document has some weird additional text at the end

Hi,

With the same word document, if we open it by going to the File menu and opening it from the Recently Used File List, it looks fine. However, if we open it by double-clicking on its icon in the My Documents folder, it displays some additional text below the "good" text. The additional text ("Normal," "Default Paragraph Font," and "3") looks like the names of the paragraph styles. I'm assuming it's some kind of settings that we can change but haven't figured it out yet. Please advise. Any suggestion is appreciated.
 
Also, it's Excel 2003.
