I know it's probably something simple, but I can't figure it out for the life of me, I have a IP406 with Analog trunks, area codes 416, 905 and 647 are local numbers, 416 and 647 work fine, 905 does not even get sent out, times out on phone.
the short code i have is [9]N; Number:N Feature:Dial.

I have tried a bounch of different short codes, like [9]905N;, [9]905xxxxxxx;, all with the same results number just sits on phone without going anywhere....any ideas??

Sounds like a problem with your LEC. Might try making some test calls directly on the trunk to see if there may be a problem beyond your IPO

i can create a short code, grabbing a line and it calls out no problem, so the trunks are ok, there must be some sort of conflict with the "9905xxxxxxx" but i can't figure it out...

use monitor, watch a good call vs a bad one, see if they route differently,

IF you are using LCR, System short code should be:
[9]N; 9N Dial 0

LCR shortcode should be:
9N N Dial 0

You should be able to dial local calls whith the leading digit 9. for example 905XXXX

If you are not using LCR, disregard this info.

when watching with monitor, a good call shows after a few seconds as usual
the 905 call does not show up, the call shows but no number
if I dial a 905 without the 9 in front the call shows up in call status monitor as a 05 number and tries to go out
a 9905 number does not even try to go out...

I can suspect what is going on, how to fix it might be harder. You probably have the 9 in the Prefix field on lines. That's a necessary step to add that digit to incoming ICLID so that they are valid for return calls.

Unfortunately that field also has a secondary action. If the outgoing digits a line receives to pass to the CO start with a digit that matches the line's Prefix, that digit is removed.

I think TheDoz may be on the correct line. You probably need to add an additional 9 to the digits sent to the line so that they start 99 and when the first 9 is stripped their is a second one. For example [9]905N/9905N/Dial.

I have tried that shortcode, it doesn't get sent out for some reason anytime "99" is dialed the call just sits on the phone not grabbing a trunk, I can see this using the call status monitor, all other calls grab a trunk display number then go out, 9905xxxxxxx numbers just sit on phone, something must be stopping it, I do have 9 in the line prefix field, but took it out to test as well, same result.

Are you using LCR? If you are, post the way you have it programmed.

Yes, using LCR, short code, [9]N;/N, I think you have pointed me in the right direction though, when I was trying other shortcodes, I wasn't changing the one in the LCR as well, thanks, I knew it was going to be something simple I had overlooked....

I had the same problem, I could not dial any local exchange that started with 9. I had to dial it like I would a long distance number before it would work. So I set it up just like I have it above and it worked great. Don't need to use [] brakets in LCR routing.
