Hi-

I've been getting strange errors when I program extensions on my Legend system using WinSPM.

Whenever I make changes to button assignments, I get errors when I save, stating that buttons have been programmed for some other function than what I intended. (wish I wrote down the exact errors) I get two or three of these errors per extension.

If I go to the actual extension, sometimes it is programmed the way I intended, sometimes not.

Anyone ever seen anything like this?

thanks-

Is this DIAL UP or Direct Connect?

Also, are the extensions you are trying to program ATTENDANT CONSOLES or what?

Dial up, I have lots of problems with a few of my clients.

One was so bad, I had to drive over and make the changes.

Hi Merlinman, thanks for the reply.

These are just regular extensions, all MLX-10DP's.

I get the errors on basically every extension I try to program. I should also mention that the other functions of WinSPM that I use are working fine. I only have trouble when I try to assign buttons.

I first experienced these errors using internal dial-up. The first thing I tried after that was to connect directly to the admin port, but that didn't help.

I've also tried reinstalling WinSPM, in case the program's databases were trashed or something, but that didn't help either.

This makes me wonder if you are set for KEY MODE.

If the system is in KEY MODE, you will not be able to overide LINES assigned to buttons.

What features are you trying to assign?

When you look at these extension in CENTRALIZED PROGRAMMING, what is on the buttons you are trying to change?

Also, can you change any of these buttons by walking over to the extensions and programming them directly?

Merlinman would know this answer... Does it matter what version spm and release of the processor? Are all winspm 's compatible with all processor releases?

WinSpm is supposed to "WORK" with all releases, but Not necessarily in WINDOWS mode.

If you connect to a system that has cards (modules) in it that WinSpm can not "talk to", it will force you to STANDARD SPM.

One thing about SPM, ALL VERSIONS OF SPM WILL WORK WITH ALL VERSIONS OF LEGEND/MAGIX.

Other than a MAJOR BUTTON USAGE UPGRADE from SPM 1.18, the program itself was mostly changed only to accomodate the CONVERT function to allow UPGRADES from one Switch Version to another.

Looking at STANDARD SPM, the stuff in the WINDOW comes from the SWITCH, the stuff outside the window is provided by SPM itself.
