WinSPM Cable Layout ----- HELP!!!!

I am trying to go from my DB9 serial to a RJ45 into the Merlin Magix system programming jack. I need to know what the RJ45 (1-8) crossover is on the DB9 pinout (1-9).

I realize that only 6 of the RJ45 wires are used, but am clueless on which ones they go to.

A quick and easy way is to get a 355 adapter and a d8w cord or straight thru patch cord and plug into the admin port.

The 355 is a 25 pin converter. I would rather go with the 9 pin serial connector. My laptop does not have a 25 pin serial connector.

you need a 9 to 25 pin adapter then a 355 adapter then a d8w cord

Here's the Pinout and parts ya' need ..

To make an adapter for the Legend or Magix, using GRAYBAR part no.: ATDB9F-8

(the pin numbers listed are that of the DB9 back side of connector, numbered 1-9, the Color is that of the wires coming off the 8 pin modular female connector)

PIN COLOR

1 Orange
2 Green
3 Yellow
4 Black
5 Red
6 vacant
7 vacant
8 Blue
(the White and Brown wire is unused)

Now You can provide for your clients too, and save 45 bucks!




don't need the 355a adapter. here is the pinout for a cable that i use all the time. works great.

i have 2 that i made using this pinout and have never had any trouble with them. just takes a few mins and a few tools.
